The earliest match of round 5 of V-League is the confrontation between Hanoi FC and Thanh Hoa Club at Hang Day Stadium. Before this match, both teams were disappointing with a bad start to the season when they were in the bottom half of the V-League rankings, with both of them only gaining 2 points after 4 rounds.
With home field advantage, Hanoi FC was determined to win, but coach Yusuke Adachi's team was soon "doused with cold water" when they conceded a goal after only 2 minutes of play.

From a dispute in front of the penalty area, striker Rimario Gordon quickly finished the ball into the net of goalkeeper Van Hoang, surprising the home team's defense. However, the loss did not make the Hanoi FC players waver, they still played calmly, trying to control the ball to find a chance to score an equalizer.
However, the early goal helped Thanh Hoa players play confidently when defending tightly in their home field and waiting for counter-attack opportunities. Both teams created many dangerous situations in front of the opponent's goal but the score of 1-0 in favor of the away team remained until the end of the first half.

In the second half, the surprise continued to happen early on, but this time the goal belonged to the home team. In the 48th minute, midfielder Hai Long, despite being closely marked by the away team's defenders, still made a decisive shot right at the edge of the penalty area.
Goalkeeper Y Eli Nie dived to clear the ball but it went to Daniel Passira's feet and the Brazilian striker kicked the ball into the top corner to bring home the equalizer 1-1.

In the 69th minute, the away team almost equalized when a poor clearance by the home team's defender gave Ngoc My a chance to shoot from close range, but he unfortunately kicked the ball wide.
In the second half, the home team focused on defending their home field tightly, making it difficult for Thanh Hoa players to find a way into goalkeeper Van Hoang's goal. In the end, Hanoi FC came from behind to defeat Thanh Hoa Club 2-1 to get their first win in the V-League this season.
