Up to now, the family has more than 5 hectares of fruit trees and 3 hectares of coffee trees, every year after deducting expenses, the profit is more than 600 million VND.
Not only enriching himself, Mr. Tong also guides households in the village on planting, caring, fertilizing techniques, supports tree varieties and guarantees product consumption. Mr. Thao A Gia, Xa Lu village, shared: My family has converted ineffective production land to grow fruit trees. At first, when converting crops, we encountered many difficulties because we did not know the care techniques, many trees could not grow; but thanks to Mr. Tong's guidance, up to now, my family has planted more than 3 hectares of fruit trees, each year earning more than 200 million VND.

At the border village of Phieng Cai, Mr. Trang Va De, a prestigious person in the village, has actively encouraged people to actively develop the economy and reduce poverty. Mr. De shared: If you want people to agree and believe, you must first be a pioneer. Therefore, when there was a policy to convert the area of ineffective agricultural crops to growing fruit trees, I pioneered the conversion of nearly 1 hectare of upland land to grow passion fruit, plum and pear trees. With the technical guidance of officers and soldiers of the Long Sap Border Guard Station, the area of fruit trees of my family developed well and continued to expand to more than 3 hectares, bringing in a stable income of nearly 200 million VND/year. I also encouraged and guided people in the village on techniques of planting and caring for fruit trees, helping many households escape poverty and have a more stable life.
From the economic development example of Mr. De, the people of Phieng Cai village have learned to convert 72 hectares of sloping land growing ineffective food crops to growing fruit trees and tea trees to bring stable income. Currently, the average income of the village reaches 40 million VND/person/year, the material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved, the village has no poor households and is recognized as a village meeting new rural standards.
Long Sap commune currently has 22 prestigious people who are retired cadres, party cell secretaries, village elders, good producers... The team of prestigious people among ethnic minorities is promoting an important role in participating in the implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030, actively participating and mobilizing people to respond to campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, converting to growing fruit trees on sloping land, joining hands to build new rural areas; building a great national unity bloc...

Comrade Dinh Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Long Sap commune, said: With the ability to "speak so that people believe, do so that people follow", prestigious people in ethnic minority areas in the commune are always bright examples, leading in building economic models that not only enrich their families, but also support and help many households escape poverty through support of seeds, capital, techniques... Thanks to that, up to now, the total area of fruit trees in the commune has reached more than 920 hectares; 178 hectares of tea; livestock has gradually developed, with more than 11,000 cattle; 68,000 poultry, people's lives are increasingly improved.
Always diligent, creative, and experienced, prestigious people in Long Sap commune have mobilized people to actively respond to emulation movements in production at the grassroots level, develop the economy, improve living standards, especially in remote, isolated, and border villages, and are a "bridge" between Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front at all levels with the people, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.
