At around 4:00 p.m. on October 20, apartment A2710 on the 27th floor of River Gate apartment building, Khanh Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh City suddenly caught fire fiercely, black smoke covered the 27th floor area, the apartment building's alarm bell rang loudly, warning hundreds of residents of the apartment building to flee down the stairs to the ground to escape.

Smoke filled the hallways, making it difficult for people to move. Some people were carrying small children, coughing as they ran, jostling each other to escape into the street through the thick smoke.

Hundreds of people in the RiverGate apartment area ran down the stairs to the ground to escape.
