Buses carrying love
On the afternoon of October 18, after nearly a week of returning from Ha Tinh, Ms. Ngo Thi Truc Ly (residing in Thu Thua commune, Tay Ninh province) continued on her way to Bac Giang , bringing essential gifts to people in the flood-hit areas. When storm No. 10 had just passed, she and members of the Truc Ly Volunteer Club quickly mobilized necessities to support people in difficulty.
“We asked for permission from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and then started to mobilize. Unexpectedly, in just a few days, we received hundreds of gifts. All of them were the hearts of Tay Ninh people sent to compatriots affected by the storm,” Ms. Truc Ly shared.

After many years of volunteering and encountering many difficult situations, the recent trip to Ha Tinh made Ms. Truc Ly more emotional than ever. “The water has receded, but around me is still a vast flooded area. At times, I thought I was walking in the middle of the river, but who would have thought it was a local garden? It was truly heartbreaking! Although the gifts received were few, everyone was happy and expressed their gratitude to the people of Tay Ninh. That sentiment is the motivation for me to continue my second trip to Bac Giang,” Ms. Truc Ly confided.

While the goods were being loaded onto the vehicle, preparing for departure, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Tien (residing in Thuan My commune) brought to the group some textbooks and old clothes that had been selected and neatly arranged, along with artichoke syrup that she herself cooked for the group members to use on the journey to Bac Giang.
Ms. Tien shared: “The other day, I read about Ms. Truc Ly donating goods to the people in the North, so I called on teachers and parents at the school to donate textbooks and old clothes, hoping to somehow support the students there. I had arranged everything but was so busy that I could only bring it today, luckily I was still in time.”

After loading the goods onto the truck, Ms. Truc Ly carefully divided each truck a portion of water, potatoes and bananas to cook, which were all sent from the other members of the club to the members of the cargo transport team. The journey to Bac Giang, thanks to that, suddenly became closer.
In just a short period of time, our country welcomed two storms No. 10 and No. 11, causing great damage to people in the Central and Northern provinces. With the tradition of "mutual love and support", Tay Ninh people joined hands to support, even though they were only very small gifts, they were filled with warm feelings of compatriots. The trucks transporting goods for the beloved Central and Northern regions departed from all localities in the province, carrying the feelings of Tay Ninh people.
On October 11, the convoy transporting necessities to support the people of the North, mobilized by Mr. Dang Van Phuc, also departed from Tan Ninh ward, bringing thousands of boxes of noodles, porridge, milk, and water to the people of Lang Son and Nghe An provinces. Here, the convoy coordinated with local authorities to hand out gifts to the people. Each time he handed out gifts, Mr. Phuc always gave messages of encouragement and conveyed the feelings of the people of Tay Ninh to the people affected by storms and floods.
Mr. Phuc said that this was not the first time he had mobilized support for people affected by storms, so he had some experience and gained the trust of the people. During this trip to Lang Son, he also mobilized mini gas stoves so that people could be more proactive in their daily lives and quickly overcome difficulties. In addition, Mr. Phuc's group also provided cash support to some particularly difficult households.
Spread the spirit of "mutual love and support"
To be able to take such trips, volunteers must put aside all family matters and devote all their love and heart to their compatriots in difficulty.
Working in the fruit business, a job that requires providing daily goods to small traders in the market, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son and his wife (Tan Long hamlet) are also willing to temporarily stop work to use their family truck to transport relief goods to the North.
Mr. Son shared: “Everyone has personal work, but when our people are in trouble, we put it all aside to help each other. Every time we read and see information about our people suffering from storms and floods, my wife and I feel so sorry. Whether in the North or the South, we are all Vietnamese with red blood and yellow skin.” Thinking and doing, Mr. Son and his wife “begged” their customers to find another “connection” to help them for a few days while he and his wife followed the family truck to transport relief goods to the North.
Driver Nguyen Thanh Son has put aside all business to prioritize transporting relief goods.
The spirit of sharing of Tay Ninh people with their fellow countrymen in storm and flood affected areas is not only demonstrated through the volunteer trips to the Central and Northern regions but also affirmed through the determination of local authorities as well as the consensus of all levels and sectors in the whole province.
This was clearly demonstrated by the fact that the Provincial Party Standing Committee agreed to urgently transfer 15 billion VND from the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Control Fund to share the difficulties with people in localities that have suffered severe consequences caused by storms and floods since the beginning of October. The above amount was allocated to 5 provinces, each province received 3 billion VND, including: Ninh Binh, Quang Tri, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh, places that are seriously affected by the storm.
On the afternoon of October 13, at the first meeting of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee launched a movement to support people in provinces that suffered heavy losses due to storms No. 10 and No. 11. This support is not only a material resource but also a testament to the sense of responsibility and affection of the Party Committee, government and people of Tay Ninh towards people across the country.
Speaking at the launching ceremony to support people affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Nguyen Thanh Hai called on cadres, party members, civil servants, armed forces and people of all walks of life in the province to promote the tradition of "mutual love and support", "helping each other", joining hands to help people in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties, soon stabilize their lives and restore production.
Not stopping there, at the meeting to celebrate Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day, the Provincial People's Committee also launched a program to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods, spreading the spirit of humanity in the business community. Responding to the call, entrepreneurs and businesses in Tay Ninh province contributed more than 4.5 billion VND, expressing the sentiments and social responsibility of economic workers to the community.
Responding to the call of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, agencies and units at the provincial and communal levels simultaneously organized a campaign to mobilize contributions to support the people of the Central and Northern regions. These timely and meaningful actions have contributed to igniting trust and spreading love from the sunny and windy land of Tay Ninh to the people in the remote storm and flood areas./.
