Man confesses after setting fire to 'mistress's' house

On August 3, Thanh Dong Commune Police (An Giang Province) said that they had coordinated with the Provincial Police Investigation Agency (Criminal Police Department) to investigate and clarify the arson that occurred on the night of August 2 in Tan Quoi Hamlet, causing serious property damage.

According to initial information, Phan Van Con (born in 1980, residing in Tan Quoi hamlet, Thanh Dong commune ( An Giang province) and Ms. Nguyen HH (born in 1973, residing in Tan Quoi hamlet ) are a married couple who have not registered their marriage.

While drunk and angry due to a conflict with Ms. H, at around 10:00 p.m. on August 2, Con used gasoline available in the house, lit it on fire, and threw it through the window into Ms. H's house.

At the time of the incident, there were 4 people in the house. Luckily, all 4 people managed to escape through the back door and called for help from the people to put out the fire and control it. However, the fire burned down part of the house, along with many valuable properties, with an estimated damage of about 100 million VND.

After committing the crime, Con went to Thanh Dong Commune Police Station to confess and admit all his crimes.

Thanh Dong Commune Police have handed over the subject and the case to the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police to continue investigating and clarifying the behavior and handling according to the provisions of law.
