Storm No. 11 causes heavy rain over a wide area

According to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station, although storm No. 11 has weakened, the storm's circulation continues to cause heavy rain over a wide area in the Northern region, especially the capital Hanoi and the Northern midland and mountainous provinces.

Last night and this morning (October 7), in Tuyen Quang province, there was rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain to very heavy rain in some places such as: Hoang Khai 74mm (An Tuong Ward); Tan Trao 67mm (Tan Trao); Tuyen Quang Meteorological Forecasting: 75mm, Office of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control 67mm (Minh Xuan Ward), Dong Van Meteorological Forecasting: 56mm (Dong Van).

Warning: Areas in Minh Xuan, My Lam, An Tuong, Nong Tien, Binh Thuan wards, Hoang Khai, Yen Son, Kim Phu, Tan Trao, Son Thuy, Xuan Van, Luc Hanh, Tan Long, Dong Tho, Truong Son, Truong Sinh, Phu Luong, Son Duong communes... and communes along Lo - Gam river are flooded with common flooding depths from 0.5 to 1.0m, the maximum flooding depth can be up to 2m; flooding time can last from 6-12 hours, in some places longer.

Heavy rain is forecast for the next 24 to 48 hours. Due to the influence of the low pressure area weakened by storm No. 11, from early this morning (October 7) to the morning of October 8, Tuyen Quang province will have heavy rain (locally very heavy rain) and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 50-100mm, with some places exceeding 200mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (>70mm/3h). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Heavy rain in a short period of time overloads the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas, traffic congestion due to flooded roads and reduced visibility while driving, causing slippery roads and traffic accidents.
