According to information from the National Power System Control Center, as of June 10, the power capacity of the Northern region has somewhat improved thanks to the resumption of about 1,000 MW of operation.
The Northern power system has restored 1,000 MW from coal-fired thermal power since today, June 10. |
The cause was due to recent incidents at a number of thermal power plants (Quang Ninh, Nghi Son 1, Thai Binh 2), which were urgently handled and resolved to stabilize the power supply for the system.
Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) added that in the past few days, some mountainous and midland areas in the North have had light rain, so some small hydroelectric reservoirs have had more water to improve power generation.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and EVN continuously urge and seek solutions to increase the operation of thermal power sources to cope with the situation of water shortages in large hydroelectric reservoirs.
