The green-skin pomelo garden of more than 300 trees of Mr. Luong Van Chung's family, in Bun 3 village, Bao Ha commune, although planted for nearly a year, is now over 1 meter tall and is growing well. Mr. Chung said: With support from the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas (National Target Program 1719), his family was assigned 320 green-skin pomelo trees (Dien pomelo), this is a new pomelo variety with high economic value and is favored by the market.

“My family has planted more than 100 Dien grapefruit trees and has been harvesting for several years now, so accessing the techniques and caring for this type of tree is not too difficult. After nearly a year of planting, it can be confirmed that this new grapefruit variety is very suitable for the local soil and climate conditions. When planting, the company and agricultural extension officers also came to provide specific instructions; importantly, the company has committed to purchasing the product when the grapefruit trees are harvested, so we are very secure,” Mr. Chung shared.

In 2024, Bao Ha commune strives to reach the NTM finish line; although there are still many difficulties, with the support of the province and district, the commune is implementing socio-economic development solutions, paying attention to effectively implementing the National Target Programs, and at the same time focusing resources to bring the commune to the NTM "finish line" on time. Mr. Nguyen Chi Quyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Bao Ha commune, said: By the end of 2023, Bao Ha commune had achieved 15/19 criteria.

To complete the criteria in building new rural areas, the commune has directed villages and mass organizations to develop detailed plans, build roadmaps, tasks and implementation time; continue to focus on promoting propaganda and mobilizing people to join hands to implement unachieved criteria, which are: Schools, Cultural facilities, Health , Environment and Food safety.

“For people in the highlands, promoting production and increasing sustainable income is very important. Although the income criteria for Bao Ha commune have basically been met, we are focusing on career capital from the National Target Program 1719 to support new varieties of plants and animals with economic value for people to raise and grow to increase income. Along with that, we also build plans and roadmaps to complete infrastructure systems such as roads, schools, and stations from investment capital from the National Target Program 1719,” Mr. Quyen added.

The new rural construction program has contributed to clearly changing the rural appearance in Bao Yen.

To complete the construction of the new rural district, Bao Yen needs about 3,800 billion VND. Up to this point, the province has basically allocated enough resources for implementation; including resources from the National Target Programs. Mr. Tran Trong Thong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Yen district, said: From the beginning of 2024, the district has made statistics and is highly determined to complete 77 unmet criteria in 16 communes by the end of 2025; Pho Rang town alone has met 4/9 criteria.

Regarding infrastructure criteria, the district is focusing resources from investment capital sources under the National Target Programs to implement construction. Along with that, with the career capital of the National Target Programs, the district is also implementing to promote production development and increase income for the people.

It can be said that the implementation of the new rural construction program has created a new vitality for the communes in Bao Yen district; that is, the socio-economic development, the rural appearance has changed significantly. Rural infrastructure works such as electricity, roads, schools, and medical stations have been invested in solidly and spaciously; many inter-village and inter-commune roads have been concreted and paved for convenient travel; residential houses have been built solidly, cleaned, and beautifully...

To strive to reach the goal of becoming a new rural district by 2025, Bao Yen is continuing to focus on investing in the development of synchronous socio-economic infrastructure, focusing on transport infrastructure, rural infrastructure, urban infrastructure and industrial cluster infrastructure; socio-economic development in mountainous areas, ethnic minority areas... with the determination to "reach the finish line" according to plan.
