Widespread power outages in Lang Son, Cao Bang , and Thai Nguyen affected the operations of BTS stations. Heavy flooding caused the breakage of several fiber optic cables.
Faced with that situation, VNPT sent rescue teams to the incident sites and deployed a series of solutions to ensure communication to serve the government and people.

In Thai Nguyen , flooding occurred on a large scale. Thousands of households were affected, many traffic routes were paralyzed, and the electricity and telecommunications systems were severely affected.
The VNPT Thai Nguyen Natural Disaster Prevention Command has proactively closely monitored weather developments, directed its affiliated units to fully prepare materials and equipment, and replenish fuel for generators, ensuring safety for telecommunications equipment.
Up to this point, in other areas in Thai Nguyen, basic mobile communication has been maintained to commune and ward centers, ensuring the direction and operation of local authorities.
Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces were affected by widespread flooding, but VNPT deployed forces on standby and implemented response plans to ensure good communication and services in the area.
Faced with the complex developments of the natural disaster, Viettel said the unit quickly activated the rescue plan according to the highest scenario. More than 300 personnel from neighboring provinces, including elite forces from the Corporations, were mobilized to Thai Nguyen that night.
Viettel equipped 50 boats and canoes to transport gasoline to isolated BTS stations, dozens of drones to perform reconnaissance missions, transport equipment and gasoline to flooded and landslide areas that cannot be reached by road.
In addition, Viettel deployed satellite phones, walkie-talkies, many mobile broadcasting vehicles, 100 generators and 1,000 batteries to ensure communication connections for people and support rescue work.

In reality, despite heavy rain and rising floods, Viettel's technical team still persistently stayed at the hot spots to check, reconnect power sources, replace batteries, and broadcast backup signals. Small boats, drones and specialized vehicles were closely coordinated to reach the deeply flooded station area, despite slippery terrain and landslides.
Viettel Post also mobilized forces to transport goods and necessities to areas heavily affected by floods. With a synchronous deployment, Viettel has isolated and controlled the impact of the information network incident, minimizing the area of communication loss.
According to a representative of the network operator MobiFone, this is a natural disaster with an unprecedented level of damage in recent years. The severity of the storm far exceeded all predictions, with prolonged heavy rain and strong gusts of wind making access to the scene extremely difficult.
Under the direction of the Corporation's leaders, with the active coordination of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police force, MobiFone Thai Nguyen urgently transported equipment, generators, and gasoline to isolated locations, and at the same time implemented a load reduction plan to prioritize MC and DWDM (important transmission nodes in the area).
Up to now, the water level in Thai Nguyen is still at an alarming level, and thunderstorms are forecast to continue to occur over a large area. MobiFone Thai Nguyen is still making efforts to maintain stable communication, ensure the network and support people in flooded areas.
