On the evening of December 17, according to Dan Tri reporter, a fire was discovered at an apartment on the 25th floor, block OC3, Muong Thanh Vien Trieu complex, Nha Trang city.

Ms. Tam, a resident of the apartment building, said the fire broke out at around 6 p.m. the same day. At that time, the building’s fire alarm rang, and residents shouted and ran together to escape through the stairs.
The 40-story apartment building's staircase is long, so some residents were exhausted when they reached the ground floor. Authorities had to provide first aid.
Upon receiving the news, about 50 firefighters and 5 fire trucks rushed to the scene. Because the fire broke out in an apartment more than 70 meters above ground, it was impossible to reach it with a ladder truck.

Dozens of soldiers used specialized equipment such as smoke extractors and oxygen masks to access the area by stairs.
By around 8pm the same day, the fire was basically under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Muong Thanh Vien Trieu complex consists of 4 apartment buildings and 1 hotel. The building where the fire broke out has 40 floors, with about 500 residents and tourists staying there.
