National Golf Champion Nguyen Tuan Anh rises to 170th in the world

Nguyen Tuan Anh won the Singha Thailand Amateur Open 2025.

At the age of 16, Nguyen Tuan Anh is continuing the magical story of Vietnamese golf with remarkable progress that has left experts in awe.

Last September, the Singha Thailand Amateur Open 2025 championship not only brought Tuan Anh a prestigious international title, but also helped him jump 47 places to 170th on the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) world amateur rankings.

Just a few months ago, Tuan Anh was still known through domestic youth tournaments. But since being crowned the 2025 National Golf Champion, the golfer born in 2009 has demonstrated remarkable maturity by continuously leaving his mark on the international arena.

He won the Best Amateur title at the Singha Bangkok Open 2025, one of the prestigious tournaments on the All Thailand Golf Tour. Immediately after that, he made a big splash with his victory at the Singha Thailand Amateur Open 2025, a tournament with a long tradition of producing many Asian talents.

This achievement helps Tuan Anh maintain his position as the number 2 amateur golfer in Vietnam, just behind Nguyen Anh Minh.

More importantly, it opens a wide door for Tuan Anh to become part of the National Golf Team for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. Currently, two official positions have been filled, but with two positions chosen by the Coaching Board, Nguyen Tuan Anh is emerging as a strong candidate.

2025 is the year of explosion in Nguyen Tuan Anh's career. From domestic to international, he has continuously won a series of tournaments: VGA Junior Tour 1st Leg, VGA Junior Tour 3rd Leg, Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, Vietnam Junior Open, National Golf Championship.

And now, with 2 international titles and a position in the top 200 WAGR, Tuan Anh has affirmed that he is not only a rising young star of Vietnam, but also a name capable of competing on the regional golf map.
