That is the information musician Nguyen Van Sanh gave when Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy and some leaders visited him at his home on the afternoon of July 16.

This is one of the visits and gift-giving trips under the plan to visit outstanding artists, veterans or those in difficult circumstances, to encourage groups and individuals to carry out cultural and artistic activities well by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and is part of the series of activities of Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Days to summarize 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City literature and arts after the country's reunification.

Nguyen Van Sanh is one of the veteran musicians. Musician Nguyen Van Sanh expressed his emotion at the attention of the City Party Committee, all levels and sectors towards artists who have made many contributions to the city's cultural and artistic fields.

He shared that after retirement he is still diligently composing. He said he is working and coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association to organize a program to introduce the works he wrote about Uncle Ho to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.

Mr. Sanh mentally calculated that he had written about 20 songs about Uncle Ho. The program on August 21 was organized not only to celebrate the country's major holidays, but also to serve as a catalyst and motivation for musicians to create more good compositions about Uncle Ho.

Mr. Sanh believes that meaningful works should be widely introduced to the public. The program on August 21 is expected to be held at the hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.

Mr. Ho Van Thanh is a musician with many award-winning musical compositions in the fields of theater and cinema.

In addition, he is also known as the director of Ho Chi Minh City Circus (later Phuong Nam Arts Theater).

His mark was very clear when during his leadership period, he invested in many young talents of the Ho Chi Minh City circus, participating in consecutive international competitions and winning high prizes. We can mention the young faces of the circus who shone when Mr. Thanh was the director such as Quoc Co - Quoc Nghiep, Hoang An - Thu Hiep, Thu Hien...

Although he is now retired, Mr. Thanh still works tirelessly. Most recently, two plays for which he was in charge of music, Comrade and Aspiration for Peace, were both honored with the Ho Chi Minh City Creative Award in 2025.

Now he is 95 years old but still very clear-headed. Although he has difficulty walking, he speaks clearly and is still interested in the country's arts. He happily said that he now occasionally writes poetry and traditional songs for fun.
