The song "Continue the story of peace " resonated in the exchange program "Proud of tradition, continue the feats" organized by the Provincial Military Command in coordination with Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television Station.
If someone asks: Which song has the most enduring vitality, most generalizes the journey of fighting for independence and freedom, conveying the greatest aspirations for peace and development of the Vietnamese people, then the answer will certainly be "Tien Quan Ca" - the sacred national anthem of millions of "children of Lac and descendants of Hong".
Going back in time, to the days of September 1944, when musician Van Cao sat in the narrow attic at 45 Nguyen Thuong Hien, concentrating intensely, putting all his mind into sketching the notes on the staff, and polishing the lyrics to create the song “Tien Quan Ca” that will last forever. When writing “Tien Quan Ca”, musician Van Cao “had never been to the war zone, had never met the revolutionary soldiers in the first military course and knew how they sang. He was just “thinking of a way to write a very simple song, so that they could sing it”.
But then, the reality of the national liberation struggle at that time continued to resonate with emotions; the burning desire and belief in peace, in a brighter life and future were conveyed into the sounds and lyrics in the most authentic and natural way. Musician Van Cao himself recorded his emotional changes during the process of completing this song. “The Vietnamese army marches/ The yellow star flutters/ Leading the homeland through the miserable place…” No, it was not just the students of the anti-Japanese military course marching, not just the indigo-shirted soldiers marching. But the entire country was changing. The song’s title and lyrics are a continuation of “Thang Long March Song”.
From the first draft, the song “Tien Quan Ca” has been adjusted to become the complete National Anthem as it is today. When writing this song, musician Van Cao never imagined that it would become the National Anthem that resounds on the stage, in the country’s important events along with the sacred flag-raising ceremony. No words can fully describe the happiness and pride of every Vietnamese person every time they gently place their hand on their left chest when the National Anthem is played.
The heroic melody, seething with enthusiasm: “For the people, fight without ceasing/ Advance quickly to the battlefield/ Advance, advance together!/ Our Vietnamese homeland is steadfast!” like the drum beat has accompanied the nation throughout the past 80 years, and has become the common property of the entire Vietnamese nation. It is also the best song of peace, introducing the country and people of Vietnam, the spirit and aspirations of Vietnam to international friends in the most complete, authentic and vivid way. On July 15, 2016, the family of the late musician Van Cao donated the song “Tien Quan Ca” to the People and Fatherland of Vietnam.
Since the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) until now, "surfing" on social networking platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, we have come across "patriotic songs", revolutionary and historical films that have been widely shared, enthusiastically responded to, formed trends, and spread strongly. There are songs that have not been released for long but have affirmed their appeal, influence, and suddenly become phenomena, attracting a lot of views on social networking platforms, such as: "Continuing the story of peace", "Proud of the soldier's uniform"... The common point that makes these songs attractive is the heroic melody, meaningful and emotional lyrics, conveying messages of patriotism, love of peace, and gratitude for the great sacrifices of previous generations.
These days, the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people are beating together, millions of people are excited with a common feeling, with passionate patriotism and great national pride. People from all three regions of the North - Central - South are looking forward to the event of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2nd officially taking place in the capital of a thousand years of culture - the city for peace. Joining the flow of cultural and artistic activities to celebrate this important milestone, we witnessed the explosion of music nights, grand concerts, impressive political and artistic programs, attracting tens of thousands of audiences to participate. From that excitement and joy, songs of pride, gratitude and aspiration for peace and development still resonate in everyone's heart...
