In tune with the flow

Thai Nguyen Provincial Photography Association, under the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, is a common home for photographers in a land rich in revolutionary tradition and cultural identity.

Through many stages, the team of artists holding cameras has increasingly matured, with works winning national and regional awards, affirming the position of Thai Nguyen photography in the general flow of Vietnamese photography art.

From 2020 to present, Thai Nguyen photography has achieved many outstanding achievements: 11 works were displayed at the national level; at the regional level, they won 1 Gold Medal, 1 Bronze Medal, 3 Encouragement Prizes and 3 team prizes...

In addition to the awards achieved, the professional activities of the Association are also increasingly vibrant. Every year, the Association organizes many creative field trips to localities, associated with political and social events and emulation movements of the province. Through this, members not only have more creative materials, but also promptly reflect the breath of life into their works.

Along with that, professional activities and technical exchanges are maintained regularly, creating an environment for artists to share experiences and learn from each other.

Photographer Viet Hung, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Photography Association, affirmed: We hope that Thai Nguyen's photographic works will not only stop at capturing the beautiful scenery and people, but also reflect the cultural depth, the spirit of innovation and the desire for development of the homeland. That is also a way for the art of photography to contribute to promoting the image of the province.

Currently, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Photography Association has entered a new phase with many advantages. If Thai Nguyen photography (old) has the advantage of a large force, familiar with the themes of portraits, natural landscapes, images of tea hills, and labor in industrial zones; then Bac Kan photography (old) brings its own features with the depth of indigenous culture of the Mong, Dao, Tay, San Chi ethnic groups...

These are unique values that Thai Nguyen has not yet exploited much. This combination opens up many opportunities for artists to explore and innovate their approaches to subjects, while also contributing to enriching the province's photographic identity.

Immediately after the merger, the Association organized a joint field trip to some northern communes of the province. Not only did it bring about emotional first works, the trip also created an atmosphere of solidarity and cohesion among the members. This is also a signal that, on the new journey, Thai Nguyen photography will increasingly become an open common home, gathering many creative perspectives.

In the coming time, the Association will focus on topics of sustainable value. Focus on exploiting the traditional cultural beauty of ethnic groups, contributing to preserving cultural memories for future generations. Promote creations about Thai Nguyen's nature and landscape, thereby promoting tourism potential and the image of a province that is changing and developing.

Besides the general orientations, many prominent authors continue to affirm their individual strengths in different subject areas. In portrait photography, there are artists Bui Khac Thien, Ngo Duc Mich, Duong Thanh…. In the landscape field, we can mention names such as Viet Hung, Le Lam, Tran Van Minh, Au Ngoc Ninh…

The combination of experienced artists and new faces promises to open up many creative perspectives, bringing new vitality to Thai Nguyen photography...
