Some households who handed over land for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway have built new houses and rented rooms to stabilize their lives, making it convenient to go to work and send their children to school.
Many pioneer households allocated land to build roads.
In recent days, working delegations from Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai and many related units have been present at Tam Phuoc and Phuoc Tan wards to visit, encourage and give gifts to thank households who accepted to hand over land to build Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in the final stage of the race.
Many families have new, spacious homes after the land was allocated for highway construction.
Accordingly, the delegation visited the new residence and presented gifts to five households that were subject to clearance and land acquisition. These people are currently staying in rented accommodation while waiting to apply for social housing.
At the family of Nguyen Thanh Huu and Nguyen Thi Huyen (currently staying in Tam Phuoc ward), local leaders showed concern for the family's life and expressed their gratitude to Mr. Huu and his wife.
According to the sharing, Mr. Huu bought land and built a house in 2009 with an area of nearly 60 square meters in Tam Phuoc ward. However, at that time, due to difficulties, he only had enough money to buy land with a handwritten paper, and his family was not eligible for resettlement land when the state reclaimed the land for the highway project.
Although he was in a difficult situation and had no new place to live, and did not know what the future would hold, after being persuaded, he and his wife agreed to hand over the land. After handing over the land, his family rented a room to stay temporarily for convenience in going to work while waiting to buy social housing.
The current site is basically leveled, ensuring construction.
Meanwhile, the family of Mrs. Do Kieu Ninh in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district is luckier than Mr. Hung. Currently, her family has a stable life in the new place after handing over the land to the state to implement the project.
Mrs. Do Kieu Ninh's household has a land area of over 800m2 on Phung Hung Street, with a prime business location in Tam Phuoc Ward, Bien Hoa City. For a long time, the family's life has been stable thanks to good business.
However, when the government reclaimed the land to build a road, Ms. Ninh's family took the lead in handing over the land to implement the project. After handing over the land, in 2024, her family built a new house and settled down in An Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district. Now the whole family has started to get back to their new life in their new home.
In addition to the two households above, the working group also visited many other households and felt reassured and excited when people's lives were stabilized, work and children's education were basically favorable.
More land has been handed over than before, reminding contractors to slow down construction
According to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, after a long time, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway site has also had many obvious changes compared to half a month ago. Up to now, more than 300 households have simultaneously demolished their houses, factories, rented rooms and other works to hand over clean sites to construction contractors. Up to now, over 76% of the clean sites have been handed over, which is basically enough to serve the construction so that contractors can mobilize motorbikes and equipment for construction.
Mr. Le Tu Hieu, residing in Bien Hoa City, said that his family has 400 square meters of land including a house and a wood workshop. Up to now, he has not received an approved compensation plan or compensation money, but has proactively stopped the workshop, packed up his belongings and prepared to demolish his house.
In addition to the house where Mr. Hieu's family lives, they also have a wood workshop, but they quickly handed over the land for the project. Mr. Hieu hopes for a satisfactory compensation and support policy to soon rebuild their lives.
Chairman of Tam Phuoc Ward People's Committee Nguyen Tri Tan said that recently, the local government has closely coordinated with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and the city's working groups to organize propaganda, mobilize and answer people's questions. Thanks to that, many households have proactively handed over their land or committed to handing over their land. Typically, in Group 1, there are more than 110 households, but only a few households have not yet demolished their houses and relocated their assets.
Bien Hoa City leaders requested contractors to increase the number of motorbikes and equipment. If any unit is still late in the next few days, they will be reminded and strictly handled.
Bien Hoa City Party Secretary Ho Van Nam emphasized that in the next few days, if contractors are still slow in receiving the site and starting construction, Bien Hoa City leaders will report to competent superiors for direction on how to handle the situation.
According to the leaders of Bien Hoa city, in March, they will continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilize households to hand over the land to implement the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project through Bien Hoa. The propaganda and mobilization period will last until the completion of the handover of the land to the construction unit to implement the project. In this propaganda and mobilization period, the focus will be on the following groups: people who agree to hand over the land but still have opinions, recommendations, and proposals, which will be handled and resolved by the authorities.
The local leaders also requested the Dong Nai Provincial Land Fund Development Center to respond to the people's petitions to soon agree to hand over the land for project implementation. Proactively coordinate with the City People's Committee to urgently complete the plan to enforce the cases of non-agreement to hand over the land starting from March 5.
