At the 2024 Central OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Conference organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on January 16 in Hanoi, there were 14,642 OCOP products nationwide with 3 stars or more (an increase of 3,586 products compared to the end of 2023), of 8,086 OCOP entities. Of which, 79 new products met the standards and were recognized as 5-star OCOP at the national level; 9 products were re-recognized. In 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development chaired and coordinated with central and local ministries, branches to organize many exhibitions on OCOP.

According to Mr. Ngo Truong Son, Chief of the Central Office for New Rural Development Coordination, the members of the Council objectively assessed each product of the production facility in terms of the level of completion of documents and products. The Council emphasized the need to improve packaging quality, increase aesthetics and expand distribution channels so that OCOP products can reach more and more consumers.

After discussion and voting, the 2024 Central OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council decided to recognize 28 products as achieving national 5-star OCOP certification.

Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that OCOP products are specialties of each region. These products not only increase the value of agricultural products but also contribute to the overall development of production localities. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is stepping up trade promotion activities, bringing OCOP products to participate in international agricultural fairs. In addition, the Ministry plans to select a number of 5-star OCOP products to bring into the supermarket system in the US.

Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam requested businesses and production facilities to continue making efforts to improve the quality and design of OCOP products; at the same time, prioritize the use of safe, environmentally friendly materials to create sustainable export opportunities and enhance the value of OCOP products in the international market.

The group of medicinal herbs and medicinal products has two products: health protection food Cao Ca Gai Leo of An Xuan Organic Medicinal Herbs Company Limited (Quang Tri); Health protection food Saphraton of Sam Sam Company Limited (Quang Nam)

The group of community tourism services, eco-tourism and tourist attractions includes two products: Tay ethnic cultural tourism in Thai Hai village of Thai Hai Company Limited (Thai Nguyen); Ecohost Hai Hau of ECOHOST Consulting and Investment Joint Stock Company (Nam Dinh).

The handicraft group has one product which is a rattan table lamp of Duc Phong Company Limited (Nghe An). In addition, the remaining two products belong to the beverage group.
