In particular, the whole province now has 11 national 5-star OCOP products. This further proves that the OCOP Program has really gone into depth, contributing to building the agricultural product brand for Dong Nai province.
Top of Southeast region
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, before the organization of the 2-level local government, the Department issued documents to urge and guide localities and entities to evaluate and recognize 3-star OCOP products and propose to the Department of Agriculture and Environment to evaluate 4-star OCOP dossiers. Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2025, localities in the province have evaluated and recognized 60 more OCOP products and re-evaluated and recognized 20 expired OCOP products. The Department of Agriculture and Environment also held a meeting of the advisory group to evaluate 7 4-star OCOP products. Currently, entities are continuing to complete the dossiers to be certified as OCOP products. It is expected that from now until the end of 2025, the whole province will conduct 2 rounds of OCOP product evaluation with an estimated number of about 20 products.
Thanks to that, up to now, the whole province has 481 OCOP products. The program has mobilized the participation of 304 subjects, of which nearly 60% are enterprises and cooperatives. Compared to the beginning of 2020, the number of OCOP products has increased sharply, an average of about 50%/year.
According to the star rating, the whole province has 361 3-star OCOP products, 109 4-star OCOP products and especially 11 national 5-star OCOP products. The fact that a series of the province's products have achieved the national 5-star OCOP standard further confirms that this program has really gone into depth. In particular, the recognized 5-star OCOP products are all key agricultural products of the province. Specifically, there are 7 products processed from cashew nuts; 2 products processed from cocoa, 2 herbal products.
Rich in development potential
After merging into the new Dong Nai province, the room for agricultural development in general and the OCOP Program in particular in the coming time is very large. The whole province has more than 1 million hectares of agricultural land, accounting for nearly 79% of the province's natural area, a diverse ecosystem, favorable natural conditions, fertile land, abundant water resources, a large irrigation system, less affected by natural disasters... These are important conditions and premises for developing agriculture in the direction of commodity, sustainable, modern. This is also a great potential for the province to continue developing OCOP products in culture, tourism , and typical agricultural products of each locality.
Dong Nai is also the "capital" of livestock farming in the country with a total herd of nearly 4.2 million pigs, a total herd of 35.9 million poultry... The livestock industry has promoted the application of high technology with many of the most advanced and modern models today; gradually shifting from small-scale livestock farming to industrial farming with large-scale commodities. In recent times, many OCOP products in the livestock sector have been recognized by the market, contributing to creating added value for livestock products such as: OCOP pork, OCOP herbal chicken, OCOP products of pasteurized and sterilized quail eggs exported to many countries...
In the coming time, the Department will organize training and propaganda activities to equip and supplement knowledge and professional skills for managers and program officers at the provincial and communal levels to support and guide OCOP entities in the province to complete registration dossiers to participate in OCOP product assessment. The Department will also continue to issue documents urging localities to support and guide entities to prepare dossiers to certify OCOP products in 2025.

Dong Nai is also the center of the Southeast region for fruit trees and industrial crops with many crops with the largest area and output in the country such as: cashew trees about 174 thousand hectares; rubber 280 thousand hectares; coffee more than 20 thousand hectares; durian 20 thousand hectares; banana 21 thousand hectares, mango nearly 12 thousand hectares; rambutan 9.5 thousand hectares... In which, many OCOP products are processed from agricultural products such as: jackfruit, pineapple, taro, products processed from bananas, instant coffee, traditional coffee...
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Van Thang said: Over nearly 7 years (2019-2025), the OCOP Program has been strongly and deeply implemented, becoming a highlight in rural economic development. In particular, the province is interested in promoting trade promotion activities, promoting OCOP products, helping to affirm the brand and expand the consumption market. Agricultural, community and craft village tourism models continue to develop, harmoniously combining culture, landscape and OCOP products. Many smart production models, digitalizing processes, traceability and e-commerce have been deployed. The province has built an online agricultural product trading floor, contributing to improving production efficiency. Dong Nai is also very interested in implementing policies and support mechanisms, focusing investment resources on infrastructure, applying high technology to develop modern, sustainable agriculture in an ecological direction.
