According to Decision No. 1810/QD-BXD, signed on October 20, the Minister of Construction officially announced the opening of Tan Cang - Moc Bai dry port (Phase 1).
The dry port is invested by Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company, a member of Saigon New Port Corporation, with a total investment capital of over VND550 billion on an area of 16.52 hectares. The project is located in Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Ben Cau Commune, Tay Ninh Province.
The main objective of the dry port is to serve the import and export of goods, provide logistics services and comply with legal regulations. This is also a step to concretize the planning for the development of the dry port system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister .
Dry ports, or ICDs (Inland Container Depots), can be considered as an “extended arm” of seaports. They act as a center for customs clearance, gathering and distributing goods, helping to reduce the load on major seaports in the Southeast, while helping businesses save costs and transportation time.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Construction, Tan Cang - Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company must exploit the dry port for the right purpose, according to each investment phase, while ensuring safety, security and environmental protection. The competent authorities will be responsible for inspecting and supervising port operations in accordance with regulations.
The emergence of Tan Cang - Moc Bai dry port comes at a time when Tay Ninh is becoming an attractive destination for industrial investors. The province has attracted thousands of projects with a total FDI capital exceeding 17 billion USD, leading to a huge demand for logistics services for import and export.
This project also “fits” with key transport infrastructure, especially the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, which is expected to be completed in 2027. When the dry port and expressway are both in operation, the time to transport goods from Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City to the border gate will be significantly shortened, helping Vietnamese goods increase their competitiveness.
