SOOBIN regrets, admits he was too confident when his team lost to the Korean group

(Dan Tri) - “Rookie of the Year 2025” kicked off with a confrontation between the Vietnamese rookies and the Korean group 8TURN. Despite their explosive performance, SOOBIN’s team still lost in the first match.

Episode 1 of Rookie 2025 has just officially aired, opening with a fierce competition between the Rookie Promotion team led by SOOBIN and the Korean group 8TURN.

The Vietnamese rookies brought the performance Da den thoi (Time to Go) with a new arrangement in a youthful and modern style, followed by the Exposure competition directly produced by Training & Development Director Hyuk Shin.

8TURN exploded with their debut performance Leggo and their performance Walk it out, demonstrating their professional performance skills.

8TURN is an 8-member group that debuted in January 2023, belonging to the 5th generation of Kpop. Although they have been active for less than 2 years, the group has created impressive milestones in terms of sales and performance quality. 8TURN participated in the Road to Kingdom competition and won 3rd place.

In the first performance round, 8TURN scored 630 points with the performance Walk it out, becoming a big challenge for the Vietnamese rookie.

The Vietnamese team's Exposure performance was considered explosive, but they still had to accept defeat against 8TURN. SOOBIN expressed regret, admitting that he was too confident. The rookies, although quite disappointed, were more determined for the next stage.

"I want you guys to seriously know that we are entering a battle for survival, a battle to win a debut position in a group, we have to learn to get used to the pressure of the audience, the stage, the lights, the sound and the rules of the game," SOOBIN shared.

Despite failing in the first round, Rookie of the Year 2025 still left its mark with a well-organized, professional stage, revealing the promising potential of the young generation of Vietnamese artists.
