Humane stories in "Short Stories 2025"

Sbooks Joint Stock Company has just celebrated its 7th anniversary. Like every year, Sbooks launched the collection "Special Short Stories 2025" to attract readers' attention.

"Short Stories 2025" collects 20 short stories by 20 famous authors in the literary world across the country such as: Vo Thi Xuan Ha, Pham Duy Nghia, Tong Phuoc Bao, Tong Ngoc Han, Le Quang Trang, Tran Nguyen Anh, Nguyen Hoi, Le Vi Thuy...

Some people temporarily left literature to devote themselves to life, then returned to writing to tell stories passionately. Some people wrote as if to hold on to memories that were gradually fading into oblivion. From those personal journeys, they left behind stories that were complete within the genre framework but had the power to touch, resonate, and move.

According to writer Tong Phuoc Bao, this special collection of short stories has stories that are familiar, naive, and light as the morning mist; there are strange stories, where ancient stories, anecdotes, and legends intertwine, creating a world that is half real and half dreamy. There are also stories that are thick with darkness, heavy as a never-ending sigh, as if a whole human life has just appeared before the eyes.

“The pages of the story still vaguely depict the past and present of the country, the days of war, historical upheavals, collective wounds that have not yet healed. A blend of time mixed into each fate, each page,” said writer Tong Phuoc Bao.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Founder of Sbooks, spoke at the program celebrating the 7th anniversary of its establishment.

Reading The Spring Night Ferry (Tran Nguyen Anh), The Delta Storyteller (Tong Phuoc Bao), Cloud Hunting (Phan Ngoc Chinh), The Beggar's Grave (Phan Xuan Luat), The Moon Digger at Night (Nguyen Luan), The Horseshoer in Hang Chai (Tong Ngoc Han)... and many other stories, we see very ordinary people, sometimes cowardly, but when faced with harsh variables, they still quietly stand up and help each other through the pain.

It can be seen that the topics in the short story 2025 are quite broad, but in general, they are stories full of humanity.

It is love and loyalty that are the core of the Vietnamese identity, always quietly flowing in every vein of life, supporting us through many changes.

These stories make us believe in suffering, but also in freedom and happiness. That is why we can always live with our human characteristics, knowing how to dream, loving, and finding our roots so as not to lose ourselves.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Founder of Sbooks, this is an important annual project for Sbooks, not only marking a year of maturity but also affirming that Sbooks has been, is and will always follow the goal of "Spreading intelligence", always focusing on Vietnamese literary works, so that excellent authors are known to more readers.

Since October 2024, Sbooks has seemed to slow down in the general market of the publishing industry but has made a breakthrough in organizing and cooperating to publish high-value books.

Typically, joining the patriotic flow, Sbooks focuses on spreading Vietnamese literature-history-culture books, specifically: Tieu Son Trang Si, Hoang Le Nhat Thong Chi, Hien Tai Thay Thay Quoc Quoc, King Tay Chua Nguyen, Trong Rung Nho... Sbooks is also honored to be trusted and chosen by the National Political Publishing House Truth as the exclusive publishing partner for the book Lord Nguyen and the anecdotes of opening the Southern land .

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, Sbooks continues to accompany the Truth National Political Publishing House to publish the book Heart for the Country by Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh. Up to now, nearly 3,000 copies of Heart for the Country have reached readers.

One of the most outstanding activities of Sbooks in the past year is the “Books for Children” program, in collaboration with Bookas Audiobooks. Since July 2025, the program has received widespread response from the community, receiving hundreds of visits, donations of goods and finances.

Featured short stories 2025 gathers many famous writers from across the country.

“Books for Children” is organized as a continuous journey: receiving old books that are still valuable, classifying them, and handing them directly to children in remote areas, especially difficult areas, or areas heavily affected by natural disasters and floods.

With the philosophy "Books may be old - but knowledge is never old", the program aims to turn each old book into a new door, opening the world for children who have never had the opportunity to access full knowledge.

Sharing about the achievements of the past year, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Founder of Sbooks, said that with the help of publishers, printing partners, distributors, businesses and schools, associates, as well as the attention of departments and branches, Sbooks has made more outstanding marks on the path of contributing to the country's cultural wall.

“In the 8th year of operation, we will continue to focus on and promote literary-cultural-historical book projects and other valuable book groups with the spirit of promoting education . At the same time, we will be determined and put all our efforts into supporting the campaign to eradicate pirated and fake books in our country's publishing industry,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung added.
