Stocks that went against the trend and soared last year

Some stocks that went against the market trend and increased the most in price last year were all on the UPCoM floor. Leading the way was SJC - Song Da 1.01 Joint Stock Company. At the end of the year's trading session, SJC suddenly increased to the ceiling price of 17,900 VND/share. Compared to the price of 3,300 VND at the beginning of 2022, SJC has increased by more than 440% even though the stock has only been traded on Fridays every week since July 2021.

In addition, EPC of Ea Pok Coffee Joint Stock Company increased by nearly 284%; HPM of Hoang Phuc Construction, Trade and Mineral Joint Stock Company increased by more than 260% even though it has only been traded on UPCoM since the beginning of August 2022...

The code XDH of Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Joint Stock Company has attracted the attention of investors when, as of the session on December 27, 2022, it skyrocketed by more than 575%, from VND 4,680 to VND 31,600. However, in the last 2 sessions of 2022, this stock continuously hit the floor to VND 16,200/share, but it is still 240% higher than the beginning of the year.

Of the 30 blue-chip stocks on the HOSE, 3 stocks still recorded an increase in the opposite direction to the decline of the VN-Index. However, the increase of these stocks is quite modest compared to the stocks on UPCoM. That is, SAB of Sabeco closed at 166,900 VND at the end of 2022, up more than 10% compared to the beginning of the year; GAS of Vietnam Gas Corporation reached 101,500 VND, plus 5.5% over the past year and BID of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development reached 38,600 VND, up 4%.
