When childhood is no longer about playing around
There are children under 10 years old, leaving their parents' arms and school for the first time to come to the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi. Every day, they practice 6 to 8 hours. When summer comes, instead of resting, they enter the most intense training period of the year - preparing for tournaments.
There is no real summer vacation, nor much time for childish games. Their lives revolve around practice sessions with horizontal bars, balance beams, trampolines, etc. Their small bodies are often covered with scratches and bruises – but they persevere and quietly overcome all the pain.
Steel will in a small body
What makes adults moved is the spirit and determination of the young athletes. They not only have to train with high intensity but also have to learn to live away from home, be independent in everything – from washing clothes, eating to maintaining discipline in daily life. Some children miss home so much that they cry at night, but the next morning they still force themselves to stand up and go to the gym with unwavering determination.
Understanding the disadvantages and homesickness of the children, the teachers at the National Youth Gymnastics Team - Hanoi National Sports Training Center not only take care of physical training and techniques but also pay attention to spiritual life, creating a warm and close training environment like a second family. The encouragement, listening and regular sharing from the teachers help the children become more steadfast and persistent in overcoming difficulties to pursue their passion and develop their talents.
A silent but great sacrifice
Behind every jump, every supple and precise movement are hours of non-stop practice, the silent sacrifice of precocious children. They have exchanged a part of their childhood to pursue their passion, to dream of one day standing on the podium of glory, bringing honor to their family and their country.
Success does not come overnight. But it is that determination and spirit of sacrifice that is the precious foundation for today's "sports buds" to become tomorrow's "field heroes".
The young gymnasts not only train their physical strength but also cultivate the spirit of overcoming difficulties – something that not everyone can do at such a young age. They deserve to be called young warriors – who are writing the most beautiful and inspiring stories in the country's sports world.
