NINH BINH ORGANIZES THE 3RD NINH BINH FESTIVAL IN 2024 WITH THE THEME "HERITAGE FLOW"

Following the success of the two Ninh Binh Festivals in 2022 and 2023, Ninh Binh province organizes the third Ninh Binh Festival with the theme "Heritage Flow" . The Festival will be held from November 24, 2024 to November 30, 2024 in Ninh Binh city and Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province.

This is an important cultural and tourism event that contributes to building and positioning the millennium heritage urban brand of Ninh Binh province, while promoting the image, culture and people of Ninh Binh province and regions across the country to domestic and international tourists. Through the organization of Ninh Binh Festival 2024, it contributes to arousing love for the homeland, pride in the long history and rich heritage of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu Ninh Binh; stimulating tourism; connecting the experience journey of people and tourists through new, attractive and unique art and entertainment performances on an international scale, imbued with the cultural identity of the nation, locality, region and area.

The key activities of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024 include 5 unique and impressive activities: Opening of Ninh Binh Festival at 8:00 p.m. on November 24, 2024 at Dinh Tien Hoang De Square, Ninh Binh city; Duc Thuy Son Assembly Hall from November 26 to November 27, 2024 at Nui Thuy Park, Ninh Binh city; Ninh Binh - Sao Mai art program converging at 8:00 p.m. on November 28, 2024 at Pham Thi Tran Theater, Ninh Binh city; Street festival on November 29, 2024 at Tam Quan Gate, Trang An street, Ninh Binh city; and Closing of Ninh Binh Festival at 8:00 p.m. on November 30, 2024 at Thung Nham eco-tourism area, Ninh Binh province.

On October 30, 2024, the Ninh Binh Festival Organizing Committee successfully organized a press conference to inform about the event in Hanoi . The press conference received the attention of many central and local press agencies and was reported and shared on many newspapers and radio stations, contributing to the introduction and promotion of the people, the land of the ancient capital Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh and the activities taking place within the framework of the Festival.

The highlight of Ninh Binh Festival is the Opening event which will take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 24, 2024 at Dinh Tien Hoang De Square, Ninh Binh city with the theme "Heritage Flow". The program is expected to be broadcast live on Vietnam Television VTV1, Ninh Binh Radio and Television Station and social networking platforms.

“Heritage Flow” is inspired by the historical journey of the Vietnamese people - the journey of establishing, moving and settling the capital of the emperors. Through thousands of years of history, with 22 dynasties, there are 3 largest and longest-lasting capitals, associated with the most feudal dynasties and also the major milestones and turning points in history that have influenced the fate of the nation and the position of Dai Viet nation.

The "heritage flow" started from the capital Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh associated with the glorious career of Dinh Tien Hoang De - the first and greatest contributor in creating a unified foundation for a nation, opening an era of independence after a thousand years of Chinese domination with the first centralized feudal state of Vietnam, creating a capital - urban culture that continues to resonate to this day. It was from this land that King Ly Thai To set sail to Thang Long, where the four directions converge, to establish the capital for his descendants forever with glorious milestones and brilliant and prosperous development spanning a thousand years. Then from Thang Long, through many historical changes, the Nguyen lords expanded the territory, built the capital Hue, where the quintessence of the nation converged with many historical ups and downs, so that today we have a strip of Vietnam stretching out in the shape of the letter S and reaching out to the East Sea.

With this grand idea, the journey will connect the heritage with three highlights, the three ancient capitals: Hoa Lu Capital, Thang Long Capital and Hue Capital - all of which are World Cultural Heritages recognized by UNESCO, the flow of more than a millennium of Vietnamese history. That historical flow has formed unique and valuable cultural, historical and architectural heritages of the nation, lasting over time.

This is the first time the art program “Heritage Flow” has been built in a cinematic style as a vivid “historical costume drama” performed in a theatrical form combining music, dance and cinema with modern and unique performance technology on a 3D mapping moving stage, to decode legendary stories and uncover layers of sediment hidden deep underground about the brilliant quintessence values of ancient capitals.

The program will recreate historical milestones, important marks in the thousand-year history of building and defending the country of Vietnam; the most glorious and brilliant periods of the dynasties that contributed to creating the oldest and most prosperous capitals in the history of the nation, leaving behind priceless tangible and intangible heritages for the nation and for humanity.

A new feature of this year's Festival is that the space of Duc Thuy Son Assembly Hall will officially launch from November 26 to November 27, 2024 at Nui Thuy Park, Ninh Binh City. Accordingly, Nui Thuy Park will be transformed into an outdoor contemporary poetry exhibition space combined with the experience of tea drinking, poetry recitation, moon watching and listening to traditional folk music. It is a poetic cultural and artistic space with ancient tea tables, tea artisans dressed in ancient costumes, decorated with poetic works carved on Duc Thuy Mountain using installation art, combined with lighting decoration... to introduce to the public and visitors the priceless spiritual "heritage" at Duc Thuy Son - a special national monument in Ninh Binh.

The Ninh Binh - Sao Mai Convergence Art Program takes place at 8:00 p.m. on November 28, 2024 at Pham Thi Tran Theater, Ninh Binh City; with the participation of many famous singers from the Sao Mai competition in recent years. The program has a large scale, high artistic quality with a unique musical space for people and tourists when coming to Ninh Binh.

The Street Festival will take place on November 29, 2024 at Tam Quan Gate, Trang An Street, Ninh Binh City, with performances of traditional costumes and street art performed by art troupes from localities inside and outside Ninh Binh province. The program also brings together traditional craft villages and local specialties to participate in the old market space, folk games and interesting experiential activities. Also within the framework of the Street Festival, there will be a final night of the historical character costume contest, gathering the 20 best costume contestants after the Online voting round. The contestants will perform traditional costumes and express their unique transformation ideas. The contest is not only a playground for those who are passionate about cosplay, but also a bridge between the past and the present, expressing cultural identity, honoring Vietnamese traditional costumes, arousing national pride, and a passion for researching and learning about national history among young people.

In particular, for the first time, an electronic folk music festival was held as a closing ceremony to close the Ninh Binh Festival at 8:00 p.m. on November 30, 2024 at Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, Ninh Binh province. It is a contemporary folk music party connecting generations of music lovers called “Í A Fest” .

“Í A Fest” is a dialogue between folk and contemporary, between past and future, between heritage and era, between space and time, through the intersection of sound and visual experience. That is when Eastern music blends with Western music, when art forms “blend” together to create a unique musical feast from contrast. “Í A Fest” will be the final point showing the “reach” of the series of activities within the framework of Ninh Binh Festival , demonstrating the intersection, integration, adaptation and transmission of art forms that have become heritage to spread widely to the public.

Within the framework of the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province also coordinated with agencies and units to organize other notable response activities, such as: National Music Festival in 2024; Hosting the 26th Red River Delta Art Photography Festival in 2024; Hosting the ITF U18 - J30 International Tennis Tournament ; "Vietnam International Challenge 2024" International Badminton Tournament; Trang An Marathon International Cross-Country Race in 2024; Trade promotion exhibition, introducing products, goods, trade, services...

With a series of outstanding activities, the 3rd Ninh Binh Festival in 2024 promises to leave the audience and visitors attending the event with unforgettable emotions and impressions, contributing to promoting the image, culture and people of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu Ninh Binh to domestic and international tourists, while realizing the policy and orientation of Ninh Binh province to become a centrally-run city by 2035 with the characteristics of a millennium heritage urban area, a creative city, a large center of high value in tourism, cultural industry and organizing national, regional and international events./.
