Ninh Thuan: Rescuing many people trapped in a simulated fire at an apartment building

In a hypothetical situation of a large fire occurring in an apartment building, the drill forces successfully organized firefighting and rescue operations.

Units participating in the exercise

On October 21, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province organized a provincial-level fire fighting and rescue plan drill in 2023.

The drill had the participation of many units, including: Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, Ninh Thuan Provincial Police, Phan Rang - Thap Cham City People's Committee, Air Force Regiment 937, Ninh Thuan Provincial General Hospital, Ninh Thuan Electricity Company...

Many professional and modern vehicles were mobilized to participate in the drill, such as: fire trucks, rescue ladder trucks, clean air pumps, fire pumps, air mattresses and slides...

According to the hypothetical situation, at the household in room 303, 3rd floor, CC1 apartment building (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city), the gas pipeline system leaked and encountered a heat source, causing a fire and explosion. The fire quickly spread, residents living in the apartment building screamed and panicked, trying to escape through the stairs, creating a crowd of people jostling and pushing each other.

Victims on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors ran to the upper floors and the roof. At the scene, there were about 100 victims climbing to the roof and about 20 people hiding in apartments on the 4th and 5th floors. In particular, 10 people were pushed and exhausted in the corridors and emergency stairs, threatening their lives.

The local fire fighting and rescue forces immediately arrived, carried out initial fire fighting and rescue operations, and called to report the fire. About 60 minutes after the mobilization order was issued, all supporting forces were present and coordinated the fire fighting and rescue successfully.
