Mr. Nguyen Duc Huy introduces the automatic nutrition, temperature and humidity adjustment system in his farm.

Lam Dong is currently considered the capital of high-tech agriculture , typically the area of Da Lat City in the past. With more than 60,000 hectares of high-tech agricultural production land, Lam Dong has been applying many technologies in the production, processing and consumption of vegetable and flower products.

In the old city of Da Lat, Mr. Nguyen Duc Huy has been continuing to research to perfect and upgrade the tomato and vegetable production model using information technology and automation. Mr. Huy is the owner of the VietPorics Control System - the VietPorics Control System that he has researched and established for many years based on the collection of data on growth, development and environmental factors affecting crops in Da Lat over the past decades.

With the above system, Mr. Huy installed sensors to collect information such as humidity, light, temperature, and then the system will automatically adjust to suit each type of plant that has been programmed in advance. Therefore, vegetables, tubers, and fruits in Mr. Huy's farm are always provided with adequate nutrition, light, and temperature to grow, giving the highest yield.

Mr. Huy programs the nutritional, temperature, and humidity parameters for each type of plant so that the system can automatically adjust.

“My system connects to smartphones and laptops via the internet. Therefore, users can monitor crops every minute and every day to know what crops need, what is lacking and what needs to be supplemented and will be supplemented by remote control commands, without having to go to the garden like before.

For the above reasons, the vegetable yield on my farm is always many times higher than the conventional traditional growing method. The model is not only applicable to small models such as rooftops and family gardens, but can also be applied to large areas. In particular, with this system, irrigation water will be recycled, helping to save a lot of water," Huy shared.

Parameters about nutrition, temperature, and humidity in the garden are reported to Mr. Huy's phone every hour and every day.

Similar to Mr. Huy, Mr. Chau Ngoc Hai also gave up a salary of 40 million VND from Ho Chi Minh City to Xuan Tho commune, old Da Lat city (now Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat after the merger) to grow tomatoes using high technology, applying digital transformation. Mr. Hai graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and is in charge of the technology sector for Dien Quang Group in Ho Chi Minh City with a high salary.

After moving to Da Lat to work, Mr. Hai researched and installed an automatic irrigation system, fertilizer and drip irrigation system by himself. It both saves water and meets the requirements of high-tech agriculture.

Mr. Chau Ngoc Hai next to his tomato garden, which is watered and fertilized completely automatically, researched and assembled by himself.

Currently, in the old Da Lat city, many people and businesses have applied digital transformation to agricultural production, bringing in billions of dong in revenue per hectare. This is the result of the industrialization process, applying information technology to production.

In Xuan Truong Ward - Da Lat (formed on the basis of merging Ward 11, Xuan Tho, Xuan Truong and Tram Hanh communes of the old Da Lat City), the average income value/ha/year has reached 450 million VND in 2025. Agriculture plays a key role in local economic growth.

Mr. Chau Ngoc Hai's garden is installed with a drip irrigation system to save water.

In recent years, the government and people have gradually changed their mindset from agricultural production to agricultural economic development, exploiting local strengths and potentials, forming value chains from production and processing linked to the market.

The program of building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas has attracted active investment attention from people and businesses. The material and spiritual life of the people has been improved and enhanced. In 2025, the average income per capita will reach nearly 70 million VND/year, an increase of 53% compared to 2020, with an average growth rate of 10.6%/year.

Da Lat people apply digital transformation and information technology so crop productivity is superior to traditional methods.

Meanwhile, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat (based on the merger of Wards 8, 9, 12 of the old Da Lat City) determined that in the coming time, the agricultural economy will continue to receive investment attention for in-depth development associated with green agriculture, circular agriculture and digital transformation.

With more than 700 hectares of agricultural land, with an average income of about 550 million VND/ha, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat will mobilize all resources to promote sustainable economic growth and invest in building synchronous and modern infrastructure. At the same time, focus on innovation, strongly apply science and technology and digital transformation for rapid and sustainable development.
