River water levels rise, Thanh Hoa continues to struggle to overcome floods

According to the forecast of Thanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, the flood water level on Yen River (at Chuoi), Am River (at Lang Chanh), upper Ma River (Muong Lat, Hoi Xuan, Cam Thuy), and Chu River has peaked and is slowly decreasing.

The downstream of Ma River, Len River, Buoi River, and Cau Chay River continue to rise. Peak flood levels on rivers are generally above alert level III, especially on Cau Chay River (at Ngoc Lac), Yen River (at Chuoi), and Ma River (at Cam Thuy) exceeding historical flood levels.

Forecast for the next 24 hours: Flood water levels downstream of Ma River, Buoi River, Cau Chay River, and Len River continue to rise above alert level III on the afternoon of September 30. In particular, in some places, it may reach historical flood levels: At Xuan Vinh (Cau Chay River), it may reach approximately the historical flood level of 2017 (10.91m); at Giang (Ma River), it may reach approximately the historical flood level of 2007 (7.28m); at Cau Len (Len River), it may reach approximately the historical flood level of 2007 (6.95m); at Kim Tan, it may exceed alert level 3 by about 1.50m.

Residential areas outside the dike, low-lying areas along the above-mentioned rivers and streams are all dangerous areas that require measures to ensure the safety of people and property. According to a report from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Civil Defense Command, as of 4:30 p.m. on September 29, 602 houses in the province were affected, of which 10 were completely damaged and 592 houses had their roofs blown off or collapsed; 838 houses were flooded, 17 outbuildings were damaged, 14 schools were flooded, 42 traffic locations were flooded causing traffic jams...

Police forces are working day and night to carry out rescue work and overcome the consequences of floods.

Faced with the complicated situation of storms and floods, occurring on a large scale and causing serious consequences, many localities in Thanh Hoa province have been severely affected, especially deep flooding and landslides in many areas. Many residential areas have been isolated, many key roads have been cut off, making rescue work and reaching people difficult and dangerous.

In that context, localities, functional forces and people have made every effort to respond to natural disasters. In particular, the police, military and local forces have been "stretching" for many days and nights, directly supporting people in evacuation, rescue, overcoming consequences and ensuring safety of people and property.

Along with that, Thanh Hoa police force is supporting necessities for people.

Together with the functional forces at all levels, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have mobilized maximum forces and means day and night with the people to prevent, combat, and respond to storms and carry out rescue work, and overcome the consequences caused by storms and post-storm circulation. Currently, Thanh Hoa Police, especially the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police, and the Police of communes and wards in the province are continuing to coordinate with functional forces to synchronously and urgently deploy measures to overcome the consequences caused by storms and floods.
