At the concert “Italia Mistero: The Mystery of Italy”, the audience in Hanoi had the opportunity to fully enjoy the beauty of Italian music with many world musical masterpieces, performed by the Massimo Theater Orchestra, under the command of conductor Alberto Maniaci and two leading vocalists: Matteo Falcier and Federica Guida.
In particular, the concert night became more meaningful when, before the official performance, the orchestra performed the Vietnamese National Anthem, and the entire audience in the Hoan Kiem Theater solemnly performed the sacred flag-saluting ceremony.
It is known that previously, in 2024, in Palermo - the cultural capital of Southern Italy - the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Ho Guom Theater and Massimo Vittorio Emanuele Theater (the largest theater in Italy and the third largest in Europe) took place successfully, opening up opportunities for exchange, bringing Italian art and culture closer to the Vietnamese public. The music concert "Italia Mistero: Mystery of Italy" is the event to implement this cooperation activity.
Regarding the concert, the Organizing Committee said that in the history of European music, Italy holds a special position, being the cradle of birth and brilliant development of opera art. If Germany is proud of Beethoven, Wagner; Russia is famous for Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov; then Italy is brilliant with Verdi, Puccini - geniuses who created the "golden age" of opera, turning opera into a comprehensive art form, combining drama, poetry and music.
The concert “Italia Mistero: The Mystery of Italy” introduced these quintessence to the audience in Vietnam. Under the guidance of conductor Alberto Maniaci and accompanied by Matteo Falcier and Federica Guida, the orchestra introduced to the audience the quintessence of European music, especially Italian music with many works by great composers such as: L'inganno felice by Gioacchino Rossini; La traviata and Macbeth by Giuseppe Verdi; Norma by Vincenzo Bellini…
The Massimo Theatre Orchestra, founded in 1960, is considered the heart of the artistic life of the Teatro Massimo. Not only does it perform in the concert seasons of the Teatro Massimo, but it also performs on many prestigious stages around the world . Conductor of the orchestra in the program “Italia Mistero: The Mystery of Italy” - conductor Alberto Maniaci is a talent from Palermo, winner of the Premio delle Arti award, who works excellently in both opera and symphony.
The two artists accompanying the program are also leading singers. Matteo Falcier won the Aslico Competition, conquering many prestigious international stages. Federica Guida is a brilliant soprano, graduated with honors from the Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory, also won the Aslico Competition.
After the first performance, the orchestra and artists will continue to perform for the capital's audience on the evening of October 1 at Hoan Kiem Theater.
