Ms. Le Thi Kim Diep, Head of the Trade Union Working Committee, announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation on the establishment of 84 Trade Unions of communes and wards; the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Inspection Committee and positions of 84 Trade Unions of communes and wards.
Commune and ward trade unions have legal status, are allowed to use their own seals, open bank accounts, and perform duties and powers according to the provisions of law and the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu requested that the Trade Unions of communes and wards learn and understand the functions and tasks of the Trade Union organization to effectively deploy all aspects of activities; focus on organizing the Congress well and doing a good job of taking care of union members and workers during the Lunar New Year 2026.
Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Vice President in charge of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation Le Dinh Hung requested the Executive Committee of the Trade Unions of communes and wards to focus on developing a Plan and successfully organizing the first Congress, and coordinate with the City Labor Confederation to direct the grassroots Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term to ensure quality, practicality and effectiveness.
Perform well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; participate in formulating labor-related policies and supervising law enforcement; coordinate in building harmonious and stable labor relations; and effectively implement practical care programs such as "Tet Sum Vay" and "Tet Union Market" with the spirit of not leaving any union member or worker behind.
Strengthen propaganda, education and dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; build industrial style and corporate culture; grasp the ideological situation and promptly orient public opinion among workers and laborers.
Focus on developing union members, establishing new grassroots unions, and participating in building a strong Party, government, and political system at the grassroots level. Promote emulation movements, focusing on the "Good Workers" and "Creative Workers" movements, skill competitions, and technical innovation initiatives, contributing to improving labor productivity and product quality, and accompanying businesses in sustainable development. Strictly implement financial work, inspection, supervision, and social criticism according to regulations, ensuring publicity, transparency, and efficiency.
“The above tasks are both responsibilities and opportunities for the Commune and Ward Trade Unions to affirm their roles and positions right from the first day of establishment. I believe that, with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and the support of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and other organizations, the Capital Trade Union will excellently complete its tasks, worthy of being a reliable support for union members and workers, contributing to building a civilized, modern and prosperous Hanoi Capital,” Mr. Le Dinh Hung emphasized.
