Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai holds the position of Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai was appointed as Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term at the 1st Bac Ninh Provincial Party Congress.

On September 30, the 1st Congress of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, officially held its session, with 449 delegates, representing more than 156,000 Party members of the Provincial Party Committee.

During the congress, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee - announced the decisions of the Politburo and the Secretariat on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, and Deputy Provincial Party Secretary.

In which, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai - Deputy Minister of National Defense - was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

The Deputy Secretaries of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee include Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee), Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan (Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee), and Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh (Chairman of the Provincial People's Council).

Also according to Mr. Duong, after the congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Gau - Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee - will receive a new assignment.

The list of the Standing Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term I, includes 18 members. The Executive Committee of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term I, term 2025 - 2030, has 71 members.

Attending and directing the congress, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee - assessed Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai as a cadre with basic training, matured from the army, and experienced in command, leadership and management positions in localities, military regions and central agencies.

Mr. Thai is also a person with practical experience in politics, ideology, Party building, and State management. In addition, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that Mr. Thai always strives to complete assigned tasks well, making important contributions to the locality and unit.

On the occasion of the congress, he asked the new Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee to quickly get to work and, together with the Party Committee, maintain solidarity and unity, while promoting responsibility, courage, intelligence and the spirit of dedication, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility for the common good.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai was born on May 7, 1969, his hometown is Hung Yen province. Mr. Thai is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee and a member of the Central Military Commission.

Since April 2025, he has been Deputy Minister of National Defense. In July 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General. Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai has a high level of political theory and a bachelor's degree in military science.
