(TN&MT) - On February 28, the People's Committee of Long An province held a conference to implement the Resolution of the People's Council of Long An province on the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of specialized agencies and announced the decisions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the appointment of key personnel.
At the Conference, the Resolution of the Long An Provincial People's Council on the establishment of 5 Departments was passed; the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee on the establishment of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board was passed. Accordingly, the Department of Home Affairs merged the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs with the Department of Home Affairs. The Department of Finance merged the Department of Planning and Investment with the Department of Finance. The Department of Agriculture and Environment merged the Department of Natural Resources and Environment with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. The Department of Construction merged the Department of Transport with the Department of Construction. The Department of Science and Technology merged the Department of Information and Communications with the Department of Science and Technology.
Along with the organizational arrangement, the People's Committee of Long An province also announced the decision to transfer and appoint officials to leadership and management positions in the Departments and the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, including 35 cases. Specifically: Mr. Vo Thanh Phong, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, continues to hold the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs. Mr. Truong Van Liep, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, holds the position of Director of the Department of Finance. Mr. Vo Minh Thanh, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, holds the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of the Department of Transport, holds the position of Director of the Department of Construction. Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, continues to hold the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director of the Department of Construction, holds the position of Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut congratulated the newly established units and the comrades who had just received the decision; at the same time, he emphasized that the establishment of new agencies and the completion of the leadership team were important steps for Long An province to successfully implement the set socio-economic development goals. Mr. Nguyen Van Ut also requested the new agencies to quickly stabilize their organizations, build working regulations, assign tasks clearly, ensure smooth operations, in line with the spirit that after the new apparatus arrangement must be streamlined - compact - strong, effective, efficient and effective.
Regarding the merger and streamlining of the apparatus, according to the Department of Home Affairs of Long An, 376 people will be reduced after restructuring the apparatus, reducing at least 20% of the payroll according to Decree 178 of the Government. Of which, the state agencies and units have 285 people, the Party agencies and organizations have 91 people. In addition, Long An province also expects the total budget for payment of regimes according to Decree 177 and Decree 178 of the Government to be over 311 billion VND. The People's Council of Long An province has also approved an additional 10% support for the above cases with a total amount of over 31 billion VND.
