Launching the 6th Agricultural Economic Journalism Award 2025

(CLO) On February 22, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, and the Agricultural Economic Reporters Club jointly launched the 6th Agricultural Economic Journalism Award 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese agriculture enters a new era".


The content of the contest focuses on reflecting the outstanding achievements, current situation and shortcomings of Vietnam's agricultural sector in the context of geopolitical tensions and armed conflicts in many regions of the world. At the same time, the contest also reflects the rise of trade policies in many major markets, especially in the period when Vietnam's agricultural sector is undergoing strong changes to deeply integrate into the global market and towards sustainable development, accompanying the country's economy into a new era.

The competition also recognized achievements and difficulties in the process of digital transformation, green economic development, circular economy and greenhouse gas emission reduction in Vietnam's agricultural sector.

In addition, the contest also aims to discover and honor typical advanced individuals, units and businesses, and creative models suitable for the requirements of agricultural economic development in the period of deep integration into the international market, bringing about socio-economic efficiency.

Contest participants include reporters and members of Ho Chi Minh City press agencies, members of the Agricultural Economic Reporters Club, as well as reporters from local and central press agencies based in Ho Chi Minh City.

The entries will be published on the official media of central press agencies and Ho Chi Minh City from January 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025. The submission period is from the date of announcement to May 31, 2025. The award ceremony is expected to take place in July 2025, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Agricultural Economics Reporters Club.

Journalist An Lien Phuong, Head of the Agricultural Economics Reporters Club, said that in the past, the Agricultural Economics Reporters Club has successfully organized 5 press awards, recognizing many outstanding works on agriculture, farmers and rural areas. In 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment - established on the basis of merging the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Club will expand its scope of activities, not only continuing to exploit agricultural topics but also developing the environmental field associated with agriculture.

Journalist Duong Vu Thong, Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, also emphasized the importance of the Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in providing timely and accurate information, helping the press complete its tasks, and hoped that the Club would continue to receive support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to develop more strongly in the coming period.

The award structure includes: 1 First prize (15 million VND); 2 Second prizes (10 million VND/prize); 5 Third prizes (5 million VND/prize); 10 Encouragement prizes (3 million VND/prize). In addition, there are also the Journalist Honor Prize (1 prize worth 5 million VND) and Media Prize (1 Television prize worth 5 million VND; 1 Radio prize worth 5 million VND).
