At noon on January 15, Binh Hai Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Quang Ngai province) confirmed that people went fishing and discovered a gray bag on the beach in Phuoc Thien village, Binh Hai commune, Binh Son district (Quang Ngai) suspected of containing drugs, so they reported it to the unit.
Authorities count the number of black packages suspected of containing drugs.
Accordingly, at 4:00 p.m. on January 14, Mr. P.D.D (26 years old, in Nghia Dung commune, Quang Ngai city, Quang Ngai province) while fishing in the area of Ganh Nuoc Nhi (in Phuoc Thien village, Binh Hai commune) discovered a gray bag on the beach. Curious, Mr. D. used scissors to cut and check, inside were many black rectangular packages.
Opening the black packages, Mr. D. saw that inside contained white powder suspected to be drugs, so he reported it to Binh Hai Border Guard Station.
Upon receiving the news, Binh Hai Border Guard Station coordinated with Binh Hai Commune Police to go to the scene to check. In addition to the above mentioned bags, they also discovered many scattered packages on the beach.
Authorities arrived at the scene to check after being reported by local people.
The authorities collected the objects and brought them to Binh Hai Border Guard Station. Through counting, the authorities determined that there were 288 black packages with a total weight of about 287 kg.
Binh Hai Border Guard Station is completing legal procedures to send to the Criminal Techniques Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police to request an appraisal.
Previously, on January 4, a resident walking along the coast of Phuoc Thien village (Binh Hai commune) discovered a canvas bag containing 3 packages wrapped in plastic bags, containing a white solid substance. Suspecting it was drugs, the person reported it and handed it over to Binh Hai Border Guard Station. After receiving, checking and appraising it, the authorities determined that it was drugs, with a total weight of 2.94 kg.
