Promoting revolutionary spirit for new-age youth

With the spirit of dynamism, volunteerism, dynamism, creativity and enthusiasm of youth, over the years, the Youth Union in the province has made unceasing efforts to contribute to building Quang Ninh into a model, rich, civilized and modern province.

Comrade Nguyen Phuong Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: The Provincial Youth Union currently has 20 district-level and equivalent unions, 531 grassroots-level unions, 3,964 affiliated youth union branches, with nearly 66,000 union members. Over the years, building a strong Youth Union organization has always been identified by the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee as a key task, playing a core role in organizing and implementing movements, programs, and activities.

Accordingly, the provincial Youth Union at all levels has promoted the implementation of the Campaign "Building model values of Vietnamese youth in the new period" launched by the Central Youth Union, including 12 criteria: Having revolutionary ideals, steadfastness, patriotism, pure morality, cultural lifestyle, law compliance, pioneering actions, constant creativity, continuous learning, good health, appropriate skills, and aspirations to rise up. From there, the Provincial Youth Union focused on implementing "Building model values of Quang Ninh youth" with 4 criteria: Aspiration to rise up, steadfastness, constant creativity, and pioneering actions.

The Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee directed the effective implementation of the program " Educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for youth, teenagers, and children on cyberspace in the period of 2023-2030". In particular, the focus is on implementing the pilot model "Using social networks safely for students in Quang Ninh province"; building the model "Map of red addresses - Applying digital transformation in educating revolutionary ideals and developing tourism"... On March 9, 2024, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to organize the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Youth for the Party" and screened the film "Peach, Pho and Piano" with the participation of 900 delegates and young union members in the whole province, contributing to propagating and educating traditions, history, and fueling the desire to contribute in every young person today.

To further improve the effectiveness of the Youth Union's work in localities and units, every year, the Provincial Youth Union coordinates with units and localities to organize training courses to equip knowledge and skills for Youth Union officials at all levels; periodically organize competitions for excellent Youth Union branch secretaries and excellent Youth Union officials, to create a playground for exchange and sharing of working experiences among Youth Union officials in the whole province. In order to create a positive emulation movement, build a more proactive and responsible working style and manner of grassroots Youth Union officials, contributing to the development of young, high-quality human resources, Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province also promote the building of "Strong Youth Union Branches" and "3-Proactive" grassroots Youth Unions. Up to now, the whole province has 2,563 Youth Union branches recognized as "Strong Youth Union Branches" and 322 "3-Proactive" grassroots Youth Unions. The young generation of Quang Ninh has left its mark in volunteer activities in all areas of social life, creating a colorful picture of youthful strength on the path of building the homeland and the country.

In particular, promoting the role of youth in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, the Youth Union at all levels has strengthened political education, propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State to young union members. Propaganda work is carried out in many forms, such as: Organizing conferences; integrating into the activities of branches, groups, clubs... Implementing the program "Educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle for youth, teenagers and children in cyberspace in the period of 2023-2030", the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee actively coordinated with departments, branches and sectors of the province to effectively deploy the pilot model "Using social networks safely for students in Quang Ninh province"; at the same time building and putting into operation a set of tools for studying and practicing political theory for teenagers and children.

The provincial Youth Union chapters regularly maintain the dissemination of positive information, good people, and good deeds on social networks. The province currently has more than 500 fanpages and Facebook accounts of the Youth Union at all levels. These pages and accounts regularly update the activities of the Union, share and post positive and official information, helping the Youth Union members grasp the movements and activities. The Provincial Youth Union is effectively maintaining the column "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps" with many news and articles about advanced youth models on the Youth Union's website and fanpage system. At the same time, it continues to effectively implement the campaign "One good news every day, one beautiful story every week", the model "Youth electronic diary following Uncle Ho's words".

Through practical actions, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have done a good job of grasping the ideology and orienting public opinion for the Youth Union members, promoting the pioneering role, gathering the Youth Union members to participate in the struggle against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Thereby, fostering patriotism, will and revolutionary mettle for the youth in the new era.
