Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Van Minh, Senior Lecturer of the Regional Political Academy III, said that Quang Nam needs to promote its tradition of innovation. “Quang Nam people have formed a tradition of innovation. The spirit of innovation of generations of Quang people is shown in many fields: From finding ways to innovate production tools, lifestyle, costumes, village organization, to innovating economic thinking, especially economic thinking about the market with foreign trade activities strongly developing in Hoi An in the 17th-18th centuries, and later the dynamism in production and business according to capitalist methods in Da Nang from the early 20th century onwards.

Quang Nam is proud to be the homeland of many famous reformists in the country such as Pham Phu Thu and Nguyen Thuat in the 19th century, the trio Phan Chau Trinh, Tran Quy Cap, and Huynh Thuc Khang in the early 20th century, and the contributions to the cause of national renewal of revolutionaries such as Vo Chi Cong and Ho Nghinh in the last three decades of this century.
