The first session of the 11th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of the city, term 2024-2029

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of October 8, at the City Convention Center, the City Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) held the first session of the 11th Congress of the City Youth Union, term 2024-2029. The congress was held in two sessions, taking place on October 8-9, 2024.

Attending the Congress were representatives of the Working Group of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union; leaders of a number of city departments, branches and sectors and 230 official delegates representing more than 200,000 union members and more than 500,000 young people in the city.

With the slogan of action " Hai Phong Youth: Solidarity, Aspiration, Creativity, Development", the Congress focused on objectively and comprehensively assessing the achievements, as well as shortcomings, drawing lessons from the implementation of the Resolution of the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of the City, thereby determining the goals, tasks and solutions for the work of the Union and the youth movement for the 2024-2029 term; contributing comments to the documents of the 9th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union; electing the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of the City, term XI, term 2024-2029...

At the first session, the Congress consulted and elected a Presidium of 9 comrades and a Secretariat of 2 comrades; reported on the situation of delegates attending the Congress; approved the program and regulations of the Congress; reported on the review of the City Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term X, 2019 - 2024; and reported on the synthesis of opinions contributed to the documents of the 9th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029.

Immediately after the opening session, Congress delegates participated in 4 discussion forums, with 4 topics: "Building Hai Phong youth to live a beautiful and useful life associated with the movement "I love my Fatherland"; "Hai Phong youth pioneering digital transformation"; "Strengthening career orientation for members and youth to meet the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration"; "Expanding the solidarity front to gather youth, innovating the operation methods of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels".

At the discussion forums, delegates contributed comments to the draft documents of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union , term 2024 - 2029.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the City Youth Union, 11th term, spoke at the Congress.

The Congress promoted democratic consultation to elect 45 comrades as members of the City Youth Union Committee, term XI, 2024-2029; directly consulted on the position of President at the Congress, accordingly, comrade Nguyen Thi Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the City Youth Union, term X, held the position of President of the City Youth Union, term XI, elected the City Youth Union Inspection Committee, term XI, consisting of 5 comrades; consulted on electing a Delegation of 18 official delegates and 4 alternate delegates to attend the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024-2029.

After the first session of the Congress, the City Youth Union Committee, 11th term, held the first conference and negotiated the positions of Vice President of the City Youth Union, 11th term, and Head and Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of the City Youth Union Committee, 11th term.
