Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Phan Thien Dinh was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City.

On the evening of October 17, the 8th Hue City People's Council held the 27th thematic session.

At the meeting, the People's Council of Hue City elected comrade Phan Thien Dinh (Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the People's Council of Hue City) to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City for the 2021 - 2026 term with 44/44 votes in favor of the delegates present.

Comrade Phan Thien Dinh affirmed in his speech: with the responsibility assigned to him as the head of the City People's Committee, he will continue to learn, inherit and promote the achievements and valuable experiences of his predecessors. He pledged to use all his ability, intelligence and enthusiasm to join hands and unite with the City People's Committee to continue building the government system from the city to the grassroots to become increasingly strong, effective, efficient and effective; strictly comply with the leadership of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council, closely follow and effectively implement the Resolution of the City Party Congress, promote the spirit of solidarity, democracy and collective intelligence to successfully complete the tasks, practically contributing to the construction and development of Hue City under the Central Government in the coming period.

In the immediate future, comrade Phan Thien Dinh and the City People's Committee will immediately deploy tasks and solutions in the remaining months to complete the socio-economic development plan for 2025 assigned by the City Party Committee and People's Council, focusing on achieving the target of GRDP growth rate of over 10%.

Comrade Phan Thien Dinh was born on December 10, 1971; hometown is Thuan An ward (Hue city); political theory level is Advanced; educational level: Master of Public Administration Management, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Law.

Before being elected as Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue Province (now Hue City); Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue Province (now Hue City); Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province (now Hue City); Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue Province is now Hue City); Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Thuan Hoa District Party Committee (Hue City). From July 2025 to October 2, 2025, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the People's Council of Hue City. At the 17th Hue City Party Congress from October 2-4, he was elected to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

At the meeting, delegates voted in favor of dismissing Nguyen Van Phuong from the position of Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee. Nguyen Van Phuong was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
