Son La Provincial People's Council passed important resolutions on socio-economic development.

Among the resolutions passed, the most notable is the Resolution on Regulations on support levels for some contents of population resettlement in disaster-prone, especially difficult, and border areas until the end of 2030 in Son La province.

Accordingly, this resolution specifically stipulates the level of funding for housing, land reclamation (if any), food (in the initial period at the resettlement site), domestic water (in places where there are no conditions to build centralized domestic water supply works) to implement the resettlement of residents in natural disaster areas, especially difficult areas, and border areas in Son La province. The subjects of application are households and individuals who are arranged to settle in the form of concentrated resettlement, interspersed resettlement or on-site settlement according to the planning and plans approved by competent authorities. Also according to the Resolution, support for building new houses for households that lost their houses is 40 million VND/household, individual; support for repairing houses for households with damaged houses is 20 million VND/household, individual. Support for reclaiming production land in places with conditions for reclamation, in accordance with planning and land use plans approved by competent authorities is 22.5 million VND/household, individual. Support for food in the initial period at the resettlement site is 15 kg of regular rice/person/month and the support period is 3 months.

In addition, the Resolution stipulates support for domestic water. In particular, support for water containers (tanks, tanks) made of metal or plastic with a capacity of 500 liters or more, water pipes; self-made water tanks with a minimum capacity of 500 liters; self-digging wells or creating domestic water sources. The support level is 3 million VND/household, individual.

Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Son La province elected members of the Provincial People's Committee for Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, Director of the Department of Education and Training and Mr. Hoang Van Van, Director of the Department of Finance.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung, Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province, emphasized that the Resolutions passed at the meeting have practical significance for socio -economic development, ensuring social security in the area and are suitable for the 2-level local government model.

The Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province requested that the Provincial People's Committee urgently implement the Resolutions that have been passed in accordance with legal regulations; and properly implement social security policies in the area. The Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council Committees, and the Provincial People's Council Delegation Groups should strengthen supervision of the implementation of the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council.
