Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang suggested that in the coming time, the two Ministries of Home Affairs of Vietnam and Laos need to coordinate more closely in implementing cooperation agreements between the two agencies.

On the afternoon of May 23, at the Government headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Lao Minister of Home Affairs Thongchanh Manixay, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Congratulating the achievements of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Lao ethnic people in the socio-economic development process, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang emphasized that the relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries is progressing very well.

The Deputy Prime Minister believes that this working visit of the Delegation will contribute to further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Congratulating the results achieved in the previous working session between the two Ministries of Home Affairs of the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the cooperation activities between the two Ministries have been practical, effective and achieved many achievements in administrative reform, religion and belief, emulation and rewards, training and fostering of civil servants, etc.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that in the coming time, the two Ministries of Home Affairs of the two countries need to coordinate more closely in implementing cooperation agreements between the two agencies; actively deploy specialized fields such as research on law making, state management; exchange high-level delegations between the two Ministries, training civil servants; share experiences in building institutions related to local governments; train state management officials on religion, emulation and rewards, archives, etc.

Expressing his honor and pleasure that Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang spent time receiving the delegation, Lao Minister of Home Affairs Thongchanh Manixay said that although the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs was established in 2011, it has had a tradition of cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Lao Ministry of Home Affairs is assigned to manage a number of areas such as citizens, civil servants, local administration, emulation and rewards, surveying and mapping, state management of religion, ethnicity, archives, etc.

According to Minister Thongchanh Manixay, in recent times, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs has done its best to help the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs, sending experts to Laos to advise on related professional work; and receiving Lao students to study, research, and receive training in Vietnamese localities.

Implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao Ministry of Home Affairs focuses on administrative reform and apparatus reform in a more streamlined direction; implementing staff streamlining; converting revenue-generating specialized units to financial autonomy.

Expressing his hope that in the coming time, the two Ministries of Home Affairs of the two countries will increase delegation exchanges to share experiences and discuss in-depth professional work; Lao Minister of Home Affairs Thongchanh Manixay asked the Vietnamese side to support training for Lao officials in using information technology, helping to deploy work more quickly.

Minister Thongchanh Manixay affirmed that the close cooperation between the two Parties, States and Peoples of the two countries in general, and between the two Ministries of Home Affairs in particular, will contribute significantly to fostering increasingly green and sustainable relations between the two countries.
