These days, when visiting localities in Lao Cai province, it is easy to see images of clean, beautiful residential areas, without environmental pollution, and roads leading to alleys full of colorful flowers. That freshness is thanks to the dedicated care and cultivation of women. The flower beds of ten o'clock, peonies, wallflowers, purple evening primroses... are neatly trimmed, interwoven with lush green bushes, creating a fresh and vibrant living space.

The movement of planting and taking care of these flower streets has received positive responses from many Women's Unions across the province, of which the Women's Union of Mau A commune is one of the typical examples.
From 2021 to present, the association has mobilized cadres and members to contribute money and working days to build 21 flower roads and 34 "Lighting up the countryside roads" power lines with a total cost of over 400 million VND.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu - President of Mau A Commune Women's Union, said: Looking at the blooming flower roads, the brilliant colors covering the road, everyone can feel the new vitality of the village. Each flower bed, each green bush is meticulously cared for by the members, bringing a green - clean - beautiful landscape, creating joy for people passing by. From these efforts, Mau A community has worked together to preserve the environment, raising awareness of the role of landscape in life.
Not only Mau A commune, from 2021 to now, Women's Unions at all levels across the province have implemented more than 200 "bright - green - clean - beautiful" roads, flower roads, and flag roads. Along with that, aiming at the goal of protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for members, the Provincial Women's Union has actively implemented the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" by issuing guiding documents, launching practical movements, suitable to local conditions, such as: "Lao Cai women join hands to build new rural areas", "Women join hands to collect and treat household waste", "Women join hands to plant trees, afforest, build landscapes, "bright - green - clean - beautiful" environment.
The Women's Union at all levels also organized and undertook over 2,640 projects and tasks, helping nearly 7,800 households achieve the 8 criteria of "5 yes, 3 clean", and attached over 1,800 signs of "Clean house, beautiful garden" club models. In particular, the Union at all levels organized thousands of propaganda sessions linking the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean" with environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, and climate change response; organized over 50 training courses, communication conferences and 2 pilot models of "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean" in advanced new rural communes to gain experience and replicate.

Thereby, raising awareness and responsibility of members and women about the important role of environmental protection, arousing the sense of responsibility, community awareness and pride in the living environment in each family and residential area. At the same time, creating a widespread influence, changing the face of the countryside, forming "bright - green - clean - beautiful" residential areas, improving the quality of life of the people...
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Huyen, a member of the Women's Association of Vang village, Gia Phu commune, said: Through propaganda, I understand the importance of environmental protection. Keeping the house, village roads, and alleys clean and beautiful not only helps my family's life become more convenient and safe, but also contributes to making the whole community "bright - green - clean - beautiful". Therefore, I and the members of the village always voluntarily participate in activities of planting flowers, taking care of trees, cleaning up, and contributing to the Association to implement models in the locality.
It can be seen that, from seemingly small but meaningful actions, Lao Cai women have been accompanying and joining hands to build the community, creating a strong influence, contributing to the formation of a civilized lifestyle, a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" environment, improving the quality of life of the people. Thereby, becoming a sustainable driving force for rural and urban development and building Lao Cai province to be increasingly civilized, modern, and environmentally friendly.
