In the retail market, rice prices have also remained stable. Nang Nhen rice continues to be the most expensive at VND28,000/kg, while Huong Lai is at VND22,000/kg. Fragrant rice such as Jasmine and Taiwanese rice ranges from VND16,000 - VND20,000/kg, while Nang Hoa and Soc Thai rice remain around VND20,000 - VND21,000/kg. In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday, according to data from the Vietnam Food Association. 5% broken fragrant rice is currently priced at 455 - 460 USD/ton, Jasmine rice fluctuates at 545 - 549 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 367 USD/ton, and 100% broken rice is at 333 - 337 USD/ton.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , in the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 6.3 million tons of rice, bringing in 3.17 billion USD. Exports are expected to increase sharply in the last quarter of the year thanks to high demand from Africa and China. If this trend continues, Vietnam could export more than 8.2 million tons of rice in 2025, maintaining its position as the world's second largest rice exporter and affirming the Vietnamese rice brand in the international market.

Coffee prices today October 8: Sharp decrease in both domestic and world markets

Domestic coffee prices continued to fall sharply this morning in key provinces in the Central Highlands. Common prices ranged from 113,000 - 114,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In Dak Lak and Dak Nong, coffee prices were recorded at 114,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND compared to the previous session. In Gia Lai, the current trading price is 113,500 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND. In Lam Dong, the locality with the largest coffee area in the country, the price dropped the most, down to only 113,000 VND/kg, 1,000 VND/kg lower than yesterday.

In the world market, Robusta coffee prices traded on the London exchange are also slightly decreasing. The November 2025 futures contract closed at $4,414/ton, down $57 (equivalent to 1.26%). The January 2026 futures contract fell more sharply, losing $76 (equivalent to 1.69%), to $4,388/ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Arabica coffee prices also continued to decline. The December 2025 contract fell 1.55%, or 5.95 US cents/pound, to 375.40 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract fell 1.67%, to 347.30 US cents/pound.

The Brazilian market also recorded a similar downward trend. The December 2025 Arabica contract closed at 447.30 US cents/pound, down 0.48%; the March 2026 contract fell to 440.00 US cents/pound (down 0.81%); and the May 2026 contract fell to 436.40 US cents/pound, down 1.76%.

The simultaneous decline in coffee prices in both domestic and international markets shows that short-term adjustment pressure is still strong. Analysts say that abundant supply from Brazil and slowing consumption demand are making it difficult for coffee prices to maintain an upward trend in the short term, although they are still high compared to the same period last year.

Domestic pepper prices this morning increased slightly by 500 to 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. In key pepper growing provinces in the Central Highlands and Southeast, prices currently fluctuate between 146,000 and 148,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices are stabilizing after several periods of fluctuation. According to traders, import demand from European and American markets may increase again by the end of the fourth quarter, promising to create new momentum for Vietnamese pepper prices in the coming weeks.

Rubber price today October 8: Domestic stable, world market slightly recovered after a series of declines

Domestic rubber prices continued to remain stable this morning at many businesses, after a period of slight fluctuations at the beginning of the month. Major companies such as Phu Rieng, Binh Long, MangYang and Ba Ria Rubber all maintained the same purchasing level as yesterday, reflecting the cautious trend of the domestic market in the face of fluctuations in international prices.

At Phu Rieng Company, the purchase price of mixed latex is currently at 390 VND/DRC, while water latex remains at 420 VND/TSC. Meanwhile, MangYang Company listed the price of water latex ranging from 398 - 403 VND/TSC depending on the type, while mixed latex is stable at around 346 - 395 VND/DRC.

Ba Ria Rubber Company recorded the price of liquid latex at 405 VND/TSC/kg for the type with TSC from 25 - under 30. The price of DRC coagulated latex (35-44%) reached 14,200 VND/kg, and raw latex was purchased at 19,000 VND/kg. In the world market, rubber prices have had mixed developments between regions. In Japan, at the end of the latest trading session, rubber prices on the OSE increased by 0.4% (equivalent to 1.3 Yen) to 300.3 Yen/kg, marking a recovery after six consecutive days of decline. The reason is believed to be the weakening Yen, making rubber products more attractive to foreign investors.

In Thailand, the price of rubber futures for October delivery decreased slightly by 0.1% to 66.68 baht/kg. In China, the price of natural rubber on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) for October 2025 delivery decreased by 1.44% to 14,265 yuan/ton. Similarly, on the Singapore Exchange (SGX), the price of TSR20 rubber for October 2025 delivery also decreased by 2.9 cents/kg to 170 cents/kg.

In Japan alone, the rubber contract for March 2026 delivery on the Osaka Exchange (OSE) increased the most, adding 7.3 yen, equivalent to 2.4%, to 305 yen/kg (about 2.03 USD/kg). This is a positive signal showing that Asian rubber prices are showing signs of a short-term recovery, after a long decline due to global economic pressure and weak demand from China - the world's largest rubber consumer.

Overall, the domestic pork market is stable, with no major fluctuations. The slight price decline in the Central and Southern regions is said to be due to abundant supply, while purchasing power remains at an average level after the holiday.
