On the evening of December 6, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open took place at the Sports Palace - Provincial Sports Complex (Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province).

This tournament is jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association. The tournament takes place from December 6 to 9 in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province with the slogan "The Power of the Police! Taekwondo Police - global citizen protectors".

The program is expected to attract about 500 delegates, guests, and nearly 2,200 representatives of sports officials, athletes, and coaches from other countries and Vietnam. Quang Ninh Police has mobilized maximum force and means to ensure this important event.

Quang Ninh Police mobilized more than 300 officers and soldiers, with the support of the Northeast Mobile Police Regiment and working groups of the Guard Command (Ministry of Public Security) and the coordination of functional units in the province to maintain security and order for the tournament.

Inside the 5,000-seat stadium, a large stage was erected to host the opening ceremony.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Dung, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Police, said that Quang Ninh Provincial Police had issued plans and measures to ensure security and order very early, advised the Provincial People's Committee and coordinated with the functional departments of the Ministry of Public Security to implement the proposed plans. Up to this point, the Provincial Police have well prepared the forces and means to mobilize for the plan to ensure security and order for the event to be successful and ensure absolute safety.

To ensure the movement of athletes and delegates from the central area of ​​Ha Long to the competition area, Quang Ninh Provincial Police arranged many specialized vehicles to lead the delegation and traffic police forces to block at intersections to ensure the most convenient traffic.

In addition, volunteer forces of students from Ha Long University were also arranged at many locations to guide delegates and athletes.

This morning, a number of competition categories of the tournament were held. The matches were attractive, dramatic and beautiful, clearly demonstrating the characteristics of Taekwondo.

With the active and proactive preparation of the Organizing Committee and the enthusiastic and responsible coordination of Quang Ninh province, up to this point, all essential technical infrastructure items serving the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open in Quang Ninh have basically been completed, ready for the opening ceremony and competitions taking place in the next 3 days.
