"Exhuma: Tomb Raider" created a fever with a revenue of 160 billion VND, becoming the highest-grossing horror film at the Vietnamese box office.

According to Box Office Vietnam - an independent box office monitoring unit, on the evening of March 24, the film reached the milestone of 160 billion VND after 10 days of its domestic release. The work surpassed Quy Cau - a Vietnamese film released in December 2023, becoming the horror film with the highest revenue in the domestic market. With the current ticket sales momentum, Exhuma is predicted to be the best-selling Korean film of all time in Vietnam - breaking the record of Bong Bong So (released in 2022, revenue of 181 billion VND).

In Korea, on March 24, the film reached 10 million viewers, the only horror film to do so. Variety newspaper commented that the blockbuster helped revive the Korean box office in a gloomy context. With a total global revenue of more than 71 million USD, Exhuma is the highest-grossing Korean film since the beginning of the year. The film will soon be released in the markets of Canada, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil, and Russia.

The film created a big impact, becoming a top keyword on social networks thanks to its exploitation of the horror genre and the harmonious acting of the stars. The work begins when two shamans, Rim (Kim Go Eun) and Bong Gil (Lee Do Hyun), team up with feng shui master Kim Sang Deok (Choi Min Sik) and funeral expert Yong Geun (Yoo Hae Jin) to excavate an old grave. In addition to the horror story, the film combines detective elements, interwoven with many historical details, including the Japanese occupation of the Korean peninsula in the early 20th century.

Despite its compelling plot, the film suffers from many plot holes and a hasty resolution at the end. According to the Korea Herald , the film exposes many issues but does not fully exploit them. The story is divided into two parts with two antagonists but lacks connection, making the overall script like two separate episodes.
