New regulations on common uniforms for male and female officers and professional soldiers

Circular No. 53/2025/TT-BQP takes effect from August 10, 2025 and replaces Circular No. 122/2017/TT-BQP dated May 8, 2017 of the Minister of National Defense . This Circular applies to officers; professional soldiers; officer and non-commissioned officer trainees, technical staff; non-commissioned officers, soldiers; relevant agencies, units and individuals; does not apply to subjects belonging to the Vietnam Coast Guard.

According to Articles 3 and 4 of Circular No. 53/2025/TT-BQP, the models and colors of winter and summer uniforms for male and female officers and professional soldiers are specified as follows:

	Shirt	Trousers	Color
Male	Lined, long-sleeved, V-neck lapel jacket. Two buttonholes on each side of the collar with badges. The front has four raised pockets with buttoned flaps; the placket has four (4) buttons. The back has a slit at the back. The shoulder has shoulder straps with rank insignia. For officers and professional Navy soldiers, there are lines above the sleeves showing military rank.	Long dress pants, open-front zipper. Two diagonal pockets in front, two buttoned open pockets in back. Waistband with drawstring for belt loop.	- Army and Border Guard dark olive; - Air Defense-Air Force dark blue; - Navy purple.
Female	Lined, long-sleeved, V-neck lapel jacket. Two buttonholes on each side of the collar. The front has shoulder and waist buttons; two raised pockets below, buttoned flaps; four (4) button placket. The back has a slit at the back. The shoulder straps have rank insignia. For officers and professional Navy soldiers, there are borders above the sleeves showing military rank.	Long dress pants, open-front zipper. Two vertical pockets in front.

Male	Short-sleeved shirt with stand-up collar. Two buttonholes on each side of the collar with badge. Front body has two prominent breast pockets with buttoned flaps; five (5) button placket and one button at the collar. Back body has double pleated shoulder pads. Shoulder has rank insignia strap.	Long dress pants, open-front zipper. Two diagonal pockets in front, two buttoned open pockets in back. Waistband with drawstring for belt loop.	- Army and Border Guard: Dark olive shirt and pants; - Air Defense-Air Force: Blue shirt, dark blue pants; - Navy: White shirt, purple pants.
Female	Short-sleeved shirt with a turn-down collar. Two buttonholes on each side of the collar with badge. Front body has shoulder and waist buttons, two lower pockets with raised panels; five (5) button placket. Back body has a seamless back seam. Shoulder strap with rank badge.	Long dress pants, open-front zipper. Two vertical pockets in front.
