Planning for preservation and restoration of Tho Tang Communal House relic, Vinh Phuc province

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed Decision No. 558/QD-TTg dated June 24, 2024 approving the Plan for preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the special national historical, architectural and artistic relic Tho Tang Communal House.

The planning objective is to preserve and promote the historical, cultural, architectural and artistic values of Tho Tang Communal House relic to become a place to introduce and honor Vietnamese folk culture and art associated with village cultural institutions; contribute to educating the younger generation about national cultural traditions; synchronously connect with the relic system in Vinh Tuong district and Vinh Phuc province.

Forming attractive cultural and historical tourist attractions, connecting with other relics, attractions and tourist attractions of Vinh Phuc province to create a rich chain of tourism products, contributing to the development of local socio-economy.

At the same time, determine the boundaries of relic protection, serve as a legal basis for placing relic boundary markers; determine functional areas, residential areas, and environmental landscape protection areas; organize space and arrange traffic infrastructure and technical infrastructure systems suitable for the stages of conservation and promotion of relic values...

Spatial organization planning

According to the Planning, for the Protection Area I of the relic, the boundary of the protection area according to the relic ranking record will be kept intact. Repair and embellish the original relic items including: Tho Tang Communal House with an area of about 598 m2; Communal House gate with an area of about 168 m2 and Ao Dinh (lotus pond) with an area of about 453 m2. Construct auxiliary works directly serving the protection and promotion of the value of the relic...

For the area surrounding the relic along Nguyen Thai Hoc street (from Tho Tang bus station to Giang market): Forming a green landscape buffer zone connecting the relic with surrounding areas; being a protective belt and providing supporting services for the relic, strictly managing the landscape architecture layout according to the regulations of the approved general planning for construction of Tho Tang town.

Orientation to promote relic values associated with tourism development

Main tourism products include: Historical and cultural tourism; craft village tourism; tourism combined with shopping for local products and specialties.

In particular, developing tourism products associated with the Tho Tang Communal House Festival; researching and supplementing art performances, some types of sports, and local folk games to increase the attractiveness of the festival; developing tourism products to learn about the history, culture, architecture, and art of the Tho Tang Communal House relic and valuable artifacts in the relic.

Tourist routes: Building tourist routes based on the original elements that create the value of the relics as the core in tourism development. Organizing intra-district and intra-provincial tours, thematic tours connecting Tho Tang Communal House with tourist attractions in the district and province such as Phuong Vien Communal House, Tung Van Pagoda, Truc Lam Temple, Thu Do Communal House, Dam Rung Eco-tourism Area... contributes to increasing the experience for tourists.
