Dong Thap inaugurated the Memorial Area of ​​the Annam Communist Party Cell

On September 23, Dong Thap held an inauguration ceremony for the An Nam Communist Party Memorial Site. This is one of the projects to welcome the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - recalled the history of October 1929, in the context of the seething revolutionary movement in the South, Mr. Pham Huu Lau - an outstanding son of his hometown Hoa An - Cao Lanh was admitted to the Party, becoming the nucleus leading the revolutionary movement in the locality.

This event contributed significantly to the recognition of the Hoa An Youth Revolutionary Association as the first Annam Communist Party cell in the province, fanning the flames of patriotism and promoting the local revolutionary movement.

"To mark that historical milestone, in 1995, Dong Thap province built a memorial stele at Mu U Garden, Hoa An village, where the first party cell was born. In 2001, this place was recognized as a revolutionary historical relic.

And today, in a sacred and proud atmosphere, the project was invested in and renovated to become a solemn and large-scale memorial site, bearing the bold architectural features of the heroic land of Cao Lanh," said Mr. Quang.

The total area of ​​the project is about 5 hectares, with an investment of more than 145 billion VND. The project includes the main items: The Memorial House of the An Nam Communist Party Cell - a place to preserve valuable artifacts and images of the cell's formation process, and a solemn space to commemorate Mr. Pham Huu Lau - a typical cadre of the An Nam Communist Party Cell and Mrs. Lau Tran Thi Nhuong - the first female secretary, who made great contributions to the local revolutionary movement.

The second area is Traditional house of Cao Lanh land - recreating history, culture and human qualities of Cao Lanh through the ages.

After the Annam Communist Party was established in Cochinchina in September 1929; October 1929, in Hoa An village, An Tinh commune, Cao Lanh district, Sa Dec province (now Hoa Loi hamlet, Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province), Mr. Pham Huu Lau, head of the Hoa An Revolutionary Youth Association, was the first person from Sa Dec province to be admitted to the Annam Communist Party.

In November 1929, at Mu U garden, Hoa An village, An Tinh commune, Cao Lanh district, Sa Dec province, the Hoa An Comrades Association Revolutionary Youth Group was recognized as the Annam Communist Party Cell, with 6 party members, with Mr. Pham Huu Lau as Cell Secretary.

This was the first Party cell of Sa Dec province (later Dong Thap province) to be established - The birth of the An Nam Communist Party cell became a torch to light the way, lit up strong faith, and fanned the flame of revolution in the hearts of every patriotic citizen.
