Launch of ASEAN tourism promotion account in Kuwait

On October 5 (local time), the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait officially launched the ASEAN tourism promotion account in Kuwait, with the participation of all Ambassadors, representatives of ASEAN countries in Kuwait and a number of guests including local press agencies and friends, Ambassadors, and representatives of ASEAN's close partner countries.

Grasping the increasing demand for travel of Kuwaitis to Southeast Asian countries, the ASEAN tourism promotion account in Kuwait (at the address @aseantourism_ack) was built to introduce the culture, beauty, and attractiveness of ASEAN member countries in many aspects - from nature, landscapes to culture, cuisine , tourism infrastructure... The account also provides necessary information to support tourists in choosing the location and time of travel, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience in the Southeast Asian region.

The initiative to establish an account to promote ASEAN tourism in Kuwait was initiated by the Vietnamese Embassy in Kuwait in its role as ASEAN Chair and received enthusiastic support and participation from member countries of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Kuwait Nguyen Duc Thang hoped that the activation and operation of the account would help the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait introduce the image of ASEAN countries more effectively, spread tourism to other fields, and proactively connect with more Kuwaiti people in the coming time.

Following this event, the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait also held a handover ceremony of the Chairmanship from the Vietnamese Embassy to the Indonesian Embassy.

Looking back at the past term, Ambassador Nguyen Duc Thang affirmed that Vietnam has successfully performed its role as Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait by organizing and implementing five initiatives in the fields of sports, tourism, business connection, and community health care to promote the image and connection between ASEAN countries with local authorities and communities as well as friends of other countries in the diplomatic corps. The Ambassador believes that, following Vietnam's Chairmanship, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait will have more new and diverse initiatives to maintain the positive image of ASEAN in Kuwait.

Appreciating the goodwill of Ambassador Nguyen Duc Thang, Ms. Lena Maryana - Ambassador of Indonesia in Kuwait thanked the trust of the member countries of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait and pledged to continue contributing to the common goals of the Committee; hoping to receive active coordination and support from the countries in the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait and friends to effectively organize activities and events in the coming time.
