On October 8, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee Tran Thi Thao chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Economics , Infrastructure and Urban Areas report and propose contents related to ensuring traffic safety in the ward.
Through review, the ward has key traffic routes passing through such as: National Highway 13, DT741B, DT749A, My Phuoc - Tan Van... These arterial routes combined with the routes managed by the locality with basically complete investment have contributed to the common freight transport work of Ho Chi Minh City with the northern provinces.

In addition, there are 11 district roads and 488 commune roads in the area. Most of the roads were invested in a long time ago, so the roadbed is weak, many places are peeling off, creating potholes, causing traffic insecurity.

Particularly on National Highway 13, the section through Ben Cat ward and some routes in industrial parks, many sections are often flooded during prolonged heavy rain.
According to people's feedback, traffic lights at some points are not suitable or damaged. Some roads are damaged and degraded, causing danger to traffic participants.
Faced with the above situation, Ms. Tran Thi Thao requested the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas to coordinate with relevant units to find solutions to promptly overcome the above situation.

Regarding the traffic “black spots” that voters and people have reported and recommended, Ms. Tran Thi Thao noted that the specialized department needs to promptly fix them to ensure the safety of people participating in traffic. The repair work must be guaranteed to avoid the situation of multiple repairs causing waste and not ensuring the safety of people traveling.
