"Amorim should be fired for removing Rashford. He is a coach who doesn't know what he is doing," a fan expressed on social media after witnessing Marcus Rashford shine brightly to bring Barcelona a 2-1 victory over Newcastle in the Champions League opening match which took place in the early morning of September 19 (Vietnam time).

After a goalless first half, Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock in the 58th minute with a precise header to open the scoring for the home side.
11 minutes later, the striker currently on loan at Barcelona from Man Utd doubled the lead with a thunderous finish from just outside the box that sent the ball into the top corner of the goal, despite goalkeeper Pope's best efforts to fly but being unable to touch the ball.
Witnessing Rashford's brilliance in Barcelona's shirt, many Man Utd fans felt angry with coach Ruben Amorim for blatantly removing the English striker from the squad.
Remarkably, Rashford has now scored as many goals against Premier League sides this season as the entire Man Utd squad has in their first four games of the 2025-26 season.
The Red Devils have scored four goals in their opening four Premier League games, including the opening goal in a 1-1 draw with Fulham and three in a 3-2 win over Burnley. In fact, only two of those goals were scored by Man Utd players, with the other two being own goals.

"Coach Ruben Amorim should be sacked after seeing the performances of Rashford, McTominay and Rasmus Hoijlund when they left Man Utd. It will be even more ridiculous if Garnacho scores for Chelsea at Old Trafford this weekend," a Man Utd fan criticized coach Amorim.
"Amorim needs to be sacked, he sent Rashford off Old Trafford. This is unacceptable," said a second fan.
Another added: "Sack Amorim, bring back Southgate and bring back Rashford."
After losing 0-3 to Man City last weekend, Man Utd continues to face a big challenge when hosting Chelsea in the 5th round of the Premier League tomorrow (11:30 p.m. September 20). If they continue to lose, coach Amorim is said to have difficulty keeping the "hot seat" even though the Man Utd board of directors previously put their trust in the Portuguese strategist.
