Denmark ended Greece's fragile hopes with an impressive home win, reclaiming top spot in Group C from Scotland.
After their opponents temporarily took the lead thanks to their victory over Belarus, coach Kasper Hjulmand and his team quickly responded with an explosive performance in the first half.

Rasmus Hojlund - striker currently playing for Napoli on loan from MU continued to show his brilliant form when he took advantage of a mistake by the Greek defense to open the score.
The high spirits helped the "Tin Soldiers" play brilliantly, and two consecutive goals from Joachim Andersen and Mikkel Damsgaard helped Denmark end the first half with a 3-0 advantage.
In the second half, Greece went all out to counterattack. Tasos Bakasetas hit the post before Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis reduced the gap. However, that effort was snuffed out when defender Andersen cleared the ball on the line after Pavlidis's skillful flick.

The visitors had the ball in the net once more, but Pavlidis was clearly offside. All hope was lost when the referee disallowed the goal.
After 4 matches, Greece is in third place with 3 points, officially out of the running. Denmark (10 points) and Scotland (10 points) will fight in the final round to compete for a direct ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
