This morning, students took the first assessment of grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.

The enrollment target for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School for the 2024-2025 school year is 350 students. Thus, the competition rate to get into the school is about 1/12.

About 4,300 students took the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School this morning.

This is the first year that Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School organizes 6th grade enrollment after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to establish Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, from the implementation of the project to reorganize Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School, according to the provisions of the 2019 Education Law and Circular 05/2023 of the Ministry of Education and Training promulgating the regulations on organization and operation of specialized high schools.

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the entrance exam for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will have a similar structure to the previous entrance exam for Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School.

The survey content includes 2 parts: multiple choice and essay, with a test time of 90 minutes to assess English and Vietnamese language proficiency; mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences; social sciences: history - geography; common life knowledge.

This is the first year Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School organizes 6th grade enrollment.

Multiple choice section : Includes 20 questions in English. Time limit: 30 minutes. This section includes questions about natural sciences, social sciences, and common sense.

Essay section : Candidates take the test in 60 minutes, testing English proficiency: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing. Candidates take the test in English.

Also in the essay section, candidates will take the test in Vietnamese in the section testing mathematical and logical thinking abilities, reading comprehension and writing abilities.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City is responsible for compiling the survey content, organizing the supervision and grading of the 6th grade survey at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.

The Department of Education and Training is expected to announce the survey results on July 11. Thanh Nien Newspaper will update the survey results for readers to look up.

Also on July 11, based on the results of the survey, the admissions board will consider from high to low until the quota is met. Students who do not pass the 6th grade entrance exam at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will still be considered for admission to 6th grade according to the regulations of the district admissions steering committee.
